This creeping martial law is gross in its own right, but the fact this lawless administration is deploying out of State troops to Chicago shows what they’re planning – they want provocations, they want violence in response, and they want to use that for a much larger use of our military against us.
States have to strike a balance in the face of this very real threat from these bastards occupying the White House. Self defense against unlawful force is an absolute right, and no State elected official being threatened by deployments of troops to their State should forget that. Despite efforts to deescalate without ceding our rights, we may not be able to stop Trump from ordering the violent use of our military against us, and State leaders must ensure the right to self defense is maintained.

This seems like just a tangled mess of legality. Is there anything stopping the IL or OR governors from activating their own respective national guard to block the TX national guard from entering since they didn’t give them permission to enter?
*If* that happens then the federal govt could claim insurrection act and send actual military and likely declare martial law no? Which really seems like what Trump is pushing for, which is entirely too much power for one guy to have. Then wouldn’t he will likely try to remove any form of govt he doesn’t like “because they laid the grounds for the insurrection act”? It’s just such a tough spot. Please inform me!
