Republicans are painting those going after ICE as traitorous and un-American – but if you read your US history the ICE of the 1850s were slave bounty hunters and Northerners were so incensed they rioted against them. Northerners were furious when the Fugitive Slave Act was passed and kept communities aware whenever the hunters arrived in town. Often local police refused to work with them.
The bounty hunters were known to kidnap the wrong people as those testifying on paper on the supposed slave’s behalf were paid only 5$. But they got 10$ if they testified that the individual was indeed an escaped slave.
It’s important to note that the 1850s ICE teams were often harassed and blocked from picking up any people of color. Armed Northerners, both black and white, protected people and threatened the bounty hunters. They paid visits to their hotel rooms and promised to blow them to bits if they didn’t leave town.
The tactic often worked.
Those tracking ICE and protesting are following a great American tradition of ignoring unjust laws.

After the shooting, Martinez drove herself to Big Rig Oil Pros at 35th Street and California Avenue, parked her bullet-riddled Nissan SUV in the parking lot and walked inside, the shop manager told the Sun-Times Monday.
Employees of Big Rig Oil Pros in Brighton Park treated Marimar Martinez after she was shot Saturday. FBI agents later showed up and put red crime scene tape around the building.
Employees led a bleeding Martinez to a chair in the shop’s office, said the manager, who asked not to be named.
A trucker at the shop called 911 as workers frantically grabbed blue shop towels and patches to place on her wounds, the manager said. The shop manager called 911 and said, “Send somebody quick because this lady is bleeding profusely. … I mean, it was instant puddles.”
Police and paramedics showed up a few minutes later, he said. As paramedics placed tourniquets on Martinez’s leg and arm, a bullet fell out of her arm and onto the shop’s floor, the manager said. She left in an ambulance. FBI investigators then arrived and placed red tape around the area where Martinez had sat and around her car, the manager said.
They processed the scene for half an hour, then the shop workers cleaned up the blood, he said.
Shooting an unarmed woman…at this rate the military will have to fight ICE and common citizens will need to be armed to protect themselves.

Isn’t a tyrannical government literally what it’s there to protect against? Like could these people not defend themselves with guns and claim 2nd as their justification?

i think it’s important to notate that she was accused of “doxxing” an agent (he has a public youtube account so i’m not sure how that’s considered doxxing)
that same agent has been seen in multiple videos being super aggressive with whoever he interacts with. the article mentions a black gmc with a mexican flag on the hood. the same vehicle he has been seen driving around. he was also seen in the aftermath of the collision of an ice vehicle ramming into a pickup truck in the same area. he body slams an innocent bystander shortly after that.
i would not be surprised if he is the one who shot her repeatedly.
