The GOP used a fabricated protest image to cheer Donald Trump’s plan to send National Guard troops into Portland—then shrugged it off as a meme.
On Sunday, the Oregon Republican Party put out a statement on Facebook, Instagram, and X.
“President Trump deploys 300 California National Guard troops to Portland,” it claimed, pairing it with a fiery street scene featuring riot cops and red flares.
However, there were two problems with the post. Firstly, hours after the post went up, a federal judge blocked the deployment.
And, as reported by The Guardian, the picture wasn’t taken in Portland—or even the U.S.
Gop has been fabricating fake news since the 2016 to back up the felons lies. Nothing to see here now move along til the next fabrication comes.

If you have to lie to make a point, maybe you should rethink your position instead.

Once we get rid of all the immigrants, and we make the cities less vibrant, and we bring ruin to the rural communities. Once the public schools are hollowed out and then closed and then replaced with empty big box stores converted into A.I. instruction warehouses. Once we are fully isolated from the world and no longer import or export product. Once we have well and fully eliminated woke ideas, and we’ve made disease great again by getting rid of vaccines. Once we have finally put guns into schools.
Will we be great then?
Like, can someone please explain what this “Republican paradise” we’re apparently building will look like?
And is that a place where anyone – conservative or liberal – would ever want to live?

And when they got busted, “they shrugged it off as a meme.” (from the article)
– “This is happening!”
– “No it isn’t.”
– “But it could be, it was obviously a joke.”
On brand, really.

I would have thought they’d pick a better fake image than one where you can fairly clearly read POLICIA on that first riot cop’s shield.

Same shit. Last time it was all the same. People came out. People were antagonized. The people who did care, they got hurt, maced, gassed, beat, and berated with rubber bullets. I saw all of it, and my wife and I were gaslit by her family for being there. “Why did you even go down there?” “You got sprayed and gassed, and you’re surprised?”
We were just protesting, and wanting to hold our police officers accountable for what happened and never to see a murder, like what happened George Floyd again. I remember seeing the footage, and I remember feeling my heart drop and I cried.
After that, i struggled with sleep for months. It ended with me having a psychotic episode and being hospitalized.
