  1. **From Joe Scarborough, MSNBC ‘Morning Joe’ anchor:**

House Speaker Mike Johnson was confronted by an emotional C-SPAN caller on Thursday over the government shutdown. The woman, who identified herself as a Republican military spouse from Virginia, told Johnson her family lives “paycheck to paycheck” and warned that if the standoff in Washington continued, she was worried her “kids could die.”

“If we see a lapse in pay come the 15th, my children do not get to get the medication that’s needed for them to live their life,” the woman told Johnson. “As a Republican, I am disappointed in my party and I’m very disappointed in you because you do have the power to call the House back.”

“I am begging you to pass this legislation,” she continued. “I think it is awful, and the audacity of someone who makes six figures a year to do this to military families is insane.”

  2. Mike Johnson is standing in the way of a lot of things. He’s standing in the way of the Epstein Files being released, he’s standing in the way of Americans getting affordable healthcare, he’s standing in the way of his son watching pornography, etc.

  3. Old enough to remember when Scarborough went to mar-a-lago to bend the knee to Trump and all of this inevitable cruel-bullshit last year.

  4. Desperate Republican voter, who obviously still supports Trump, begging a Republican politician to ask for help. Let’s be clear about this – she is complaining now because SHE is in a tough spot. If an immigrant (documented or undocumented, doesn’t matter to these monsters) had been going through what she’s going through now, she wouldn’t give a single fuck. She’d probably sneer at them and tell them to go back to their own country. That’s the underpinning of the Republican voter ethos – racism against minorities.

And why the fuck should non-essential military servicemembers be exempt from this? How about someone in the State Department, or the EPA who needs medication for THEIR kids? Military servicemembers and their dependents are some of the most entitled crybabies I’ve ever been around. They’re so used to bootlickers telling them “Thank you for your service!” that they think they deserve more than the rest of us.

Sorry, but my compassion for anyone supporting Trump is gone. Let the leopards feast on some faces. I’ll just sit back and laugh. I’ll save my compassion for people who care about their neighbors.

Paying just the military seems like a terrible thing to do. Picking “winners” is bad business.

Everyone needs to suffer and rise up. But that will only happen when air traffic halts and Gdp tanks in a day

Mike Johnson adopted an 11 year old boy when he was 25 and single.

This is not normal, unless it’s your nephew.

  7. They’ve cancelled Permanent Change of Station Moves. Even of you are in the middle of one. So, an example. You have a spouse and two kids. You’re loving from Texas to Virginia. You cleared on post housing, which means all your stuff has been packed in boxes, you got a move out inspection and you have handed the keys over. It is no longer your house. You go to get a final signature to officially clear your old base and go to the new one. They say they can’t sign and they can’t authorize you to go to your new place. Also, they’ve shut off your government travel card. You and your spouse and your two dogs and your two kids will have to pay out of pocket for housing/hotel because you already turned in your keys and you can’t have them back. Also we’re not paying you next week or for the forseeable weeks. USAA has interest free loans but only if you have good credit, sucks if you don’t. Anyways, thank you for your service.

No, it’s John Thune. The gridlock is in the Senate where he is the majority leader. Once they figure their shit out and pass a senate bill, then the blame for any delays falls on Mike Johnson.

  9. You might be able to pray your masturbation urge’s away, but you can’t pray the landlord away.

  10. The Republican party has a majority. Anything that happens is their fault. They should be able to pass a bill.

  11. They could make a 1 time rule to override 60 to open it now.

    Nothing but Epstein distraction
