  1. A smidge from the piece:

    >To MAGA’s dismay, now that Leo has begun expressing his views, there is little indication he plans to rein them in. The first American pope “was very clear that what is happening to migrants in the United States right now is an injustice,” Dylan Corbett, executive director of the Texas-based Hope Border Institute, who attended Leo’s meeting with Seitz, told the Post. “He said the church cannot remain silent.”

  2. This is the only reason there’s an American Papacy right now. The College of Cardinals chose him for this very reason. Meanwhile, anti-Christians like Vance, Alito, Thomas, and Barrett aren’t even smart or educated enough to have recognized the move was an intentional recrimination of them, and their anti-Christian Bishops, by the College.

Read the room MAGA. He’s calling you a cargo cult.

  3. MAGA is Christian, they just don’t follow Christ. There is a huge difference. Few Christians understand Jesus’s teaching, internalize it, and truly follow it. Outside of a small minority who live simply, humbly, and go about their lives quietly helping others, the only well-recognized faction of society that comes even remotely close to following Jesus’s teaching would probably be the Amish. Jesus set an incredibly high bar for those living in the world. Few can hope to pass. “The path to enlightenment is as narrow as a razor’s edge.”

The rise of Catholicism in the US will be matched by followers kindly asking their Pope to STFU.

  5. MAGA Christians believe that the gold cross dangling around their necks function the same way for heaven as the golden ticket to get into Wonka’s factory.

  6. Many of those that would benefit from hearing this don’t hold him in any esteem, despite his position. When he became pope he ceased being “American” to a lot of people, especially now that he’s been labeled “woke” or whatever. Makes it easy to discount anything he might say rather than do introspection.

Glad to hear him saying it though, regardless.

The pope needs to worry about the pedophiles that his cult creates. Once he gets that sorted out, he can then concern himself with MAGA.

The older I get the more I realize I don’t have an issue with Christianity, it’s actually a beautiful religion. The problem is it’s been overtaken by right wing fascists. But I can’t find any support for a White Nationalist agenda in the Bible. It’s actually quite the opposite and it’s about time the Pope points this out.

  9. Yeah, but like.. he’s just the pope. It’s not like he speaks for an entire Abrahamic religion or anything.

  10. MAGA believes in harming others to help themselves. About as far away from Christianity as you can get.

  11. The Pope just needs to come out and say that no supporter of MAGA will enter the kingdom of heaven as their activities are so counter to Jesus’ teachings.
