Most of the time she comes across as batshit crazy, and part of that is probably because she is, but some of it seems to be because she wants to come off that way. It makes headlines, it keeps her in the news. As much as I disagree with her on most things, she seems honestly very skilled at politicking. I think she’s seeing how the wind is blowing and wants to separate herself from positions that are becoming increasingly unpopular with her base.
