TBH, these marches are kinda pointless. Not trying to sound pessimistic here, but change ain’t gonna happen overnight.

It’s important to note that much of what the Trump administration is technically legal, or at least ambiguous pending him stretching limits and asking for a court case to clarify.
Some rules and suggestions for everyone that wants to show their numbers against autocracy:
1. _REMAIN PEACEFUL AT ALL COSTS_
Don’t let provocateurs that are looking to create the footage needed to justify martial law or the narrative. De-escalate wherever you can.
2. _Take safety precautions_
it’s unlikely, and most of these will go just fine, but it always is worth taking stock of the threats… you may be harassed by counter-protestors and police/ICE/etc alike, you might get gassed, you will likely (IMO) be surveilled/tracked, etc., so…
make sure you have people that are not attending the event that are aware of where you are and when you’ll be back.
I usually put my phone on airplane mode before attending, others sometimes don’t bring their phone but I think it’s important to have it (or some other recording device) to document and SHARE this activity because MSM doesn’t.
3. _Have fun!_
Make a funny sign, wear a costume, bring some music. It’s not to make this less serious (our democracy is about to die, I can’t think of anything more serious than protesting this regime right now), BUT I have found the protest coverage in Portland to be inspiring. It’s a great juxtaposition in images when you have fascists lined up next to people in goofy costumes, or people doing the electric slide, etc, while this regime tries to claim these protests are violent, the cities are war zones, etc. this is about making the movement accessible and effective, being cognizant of the social media aspect, and directly contradicting the regimes lies about what’s actually happening.
>Fun/goofy costumes also doubles as a way of concealing your identity. Which I think is great, since I don’t want to end up on a list of “ANTIFA” bad guys (according to this corrupt regime who is currently summarily executing people on boats in the Caribbean without any oversight and while providing no evidence or transparency).
4. Keep in mind that _you don’t have to agree with everyone there._
Some people will chant things you disagree with, some will be there protesting issues that aren’t as important to you (or maybe even against your own values). Coalitions aren’t formed because everyone agrees on everything, they’re formed when you can work with people who don’t necessarily agree on all things, but do agree on the importance of a given issue (or issues).
5. _DO NOT LET THE PROTEST BE THE ONLY THING YOU DO._
If you protest and don’t vote, you’re not even doing half the job. If you have the time and energy and risk tolerance to attend these protests, I implore you to do more. Join some of the organizations that helped put this event on as they likely need volunteers, follow up at your local primary and vote for the candidates that you agree with most, and then VOTE in the upcoming elections. Talk to your family and friends about voting and such, and do your part. Democracy cannot thrive without that.
Stay safe out there, eyes on the prize!

I’m thinking of what sign to make. Thinking of on one side “Matthew 25:40: Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me” and on the other a picture of Feival with “There are no ~~cats~~ kings in America!”

Can’t wait to see all the inflatable costumes and hilarious playful shenanigans. I am positive that protestors can take a page from Portland and just juxtapose the sheer ridiculousness of it all.

Funny how at Kirk’s memorial Miller says Americans lineage goes back to Rome (wtf lol). How quickly he forgets- Rome kills Julius Caesar because they believed he didn’t want to give up his power, and there could be no kings.

I have to say, the “No Kings” protests must be working considering we are the furthest from a king and dictatorship we’ve ever been.

The Trump admin and Project 2025 have outdone themselves in identifying all the possible legal loopholes to exploit… [https://rollcall.com/2025/08/27/the-u-s-system-always-had-loopholes-trump-2-0-exploits-what-others-resisted/](https://rollcall.com/2025/08/27/the-u-s-system-always-had-loopholes-trump-2-0-exploits-what-others-resisted/)
