Torturous gerrymandering, trying to dismantle the voting rights act, pushing for ends to mail-in balloting and requiring unnecessary forms of ID. He has a point. I hate that the Dems have to adopt their own gerrymandering now to fight back, but it is what it is. Welcome to the 21st century’s hyper-politicized world. If election fraud had ever been proven (enough to shift the outcome of any election), even by the Republican’s own investigations, I’d be more inclined to think about some voting reforms related to ID and voter validation. But since that’s all just unfounded conspiracy theory, I’m not interested.

Not news. Rigging happened in 2016, 2020 and 2024 plus intermittent midterms. 2020 is an outlier as it wasn’t as successful as the other ones.

I think that they control too much of the government to be stopped now. We have crossed the Rubicon.
This might not “seem” like a big deal, but Dems for the most part have been avoiding the terminology of “rigged” so as to not appear to stoop to their (Republicans) level. and it’s not hard to see why that would be, as for the longest time the mantra was “They go low while we go high”. Paraphrasing. Might have missed a few words.
But now, you have one of the more popular Democratic voices, Obama, who isn’t running of course, confidently saying things for what they are.
So if the messaging moving forward is something that Dems adopt where they willingly retaliate with accusations of behavior that seeks to rig the elections, this “is” a development worth covering. It could be some signs of Democrats beginning to drop the whole status quo act, IF Obama has enough pull with mainstays to follow that message.
Obviously there are some who are sitting in chairs who are saying that in their own ways, but it’s a big deal for someone like Obama to say that even if he isn’t running or anything.
Interesting development.

They don’t want to. They are actively redistricting in numerous states around the nation to secure the future of the GOP

I already voted yes for prop 50. We can’t allow the Republicans to play by a different set of rules.

we have crossed the rubicon.
And they’ve tried to rig the past few with foreign assistance.
They already tried and we did nothing of consequence to anyone. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trump_fake_electors_plot

Yes. In order to save free and fair elections what we need to do is permenately disenfranchise the votes of the approx 40% of Califorians who vote for Republicans. There’s no way that this could have any [unintended outcomes](https://www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/north-carolina-is-latest-gop-controlled-state-to-announce-a-gerrymander/) right?
I’m sorry Gavin, two wrongs won’t save democracy.
Has been
Obama 2028
edit: actually, I don’t think he did enough, even though he was popular..
I’d rather have Bernie, but he’s not running, and Obama has more name recognition and would be more likely to win.
Maybe Bernie could be Pres with an Obama VP for the votes?
Is it really just an accusation? Has anybody provided any sort of explanation as to what the Texas gerrymander is for that brushes the obvious away?
Omg have the two of them run.
Obama as VP would scare the shit out of them
Got my Obama 2028 hat ready.
Obama actually rigged an election so he would know I guess
