Not gonna happen. A new offshore gas field requires no less than $10B (us) to develop. For the same cost you can get 7 GW to 12 GW of Solar PV paired with 12 GWh to 14 GWh of BESS. That is NB and NS current electrical capacity. Fossil energy is a lie, the liability continuously increases with time, while renewables offer lower and lower cost overtime.
