I thought the military was legally obligated not to obey an illegal order. If the top brass are resigning instead of holding their ground, Trump will just appoint people who won’t question his orders, and all those ex-military commanders will be writing books complaining about the direction the country is going in, rather than sticking around and doing something to prevent it.
