  1. You can promote anyone to colonel, but that doesn’t mean they can do the job. Replacing career officers who joined to do the right thing with ideological ones guarantees a Russian style military. Bad out of the box.

    Yikes.

“When Trump addressed the country’s highest-ranking military leaders on 30 September, he delivered a stern warning: “If you don’t like what I’m saying, you can leave the room. Of course, there goes your rank, there goes your future.”

Krugman, however, said he had already decided he was leaving the military and that was to be his final day.”

    Good for him.

    It won’t matter though.

The entire army could resign, and get replaced with fat proud boys, and Trump and his idiot followers would believe we’re better than the day before.

Until all the other brainwashed republicans can shake loose of his spell, there will be no consequences that will deter Trump from being who he is.

Salute to you, Sir, we need more guts and integrity from our high ranking service members.

  5. Bravo! I sincerely hope his pension will be safe from any retaliation. I’m sure he consulted a legal advisor before this retirement and public announcement.

  6. Maybe I’m just used to answering to shitty, stupid remarks made by MAGAts, but I looked up Doug Krugman USMC and no, Hegseth’s comment about fat officers doesn’t apply to Krugman. He’s quitting because Trump is an asshole.

How do we know he didn’t quit because he’s past retirement age and keeps getting passed up for General?

  8. We need these guys to stay in service but go underground. Say what bullshit you need to say but remain true in your heart

Cheering this on is what the current government wants. They want members who resist to leave so they don’t have to remove them

  10. If most of the military senior leadership who are opposed to violating the constitution resign, then we end up with a military that will do whatever Trump asks of them, even if illegal. That’s terrifying

Um. Pretty sure you retire after 24 years in the military. Only the dumbest of dumb fucks would resign and give up all they worked for. I doubt he is the dumbest of dumb fucks.

This isn’t good though. If dissenting voices leave their posts then all that will remain is loyalists. My only hope is that there are more top ranking officers who are staying put and keeping their mouth shut and trying to stop as much damage as they can from the inside.

  13. I thought the military was legally obligated not to obey an illegal order. If the top brass are resigning instead of holding their ground, Trump will just appoint people who won’t question his orders, and all those ex-military commanders will be writing books complaining about the direction the country is going in, rather than sticking around and doing something to prevent it.

You know, when MAGA crows about the revolution being bloodless, they forget that they have been building up the opposing army with TRUE professionals like this Colonel and the SOUTHCOM commander.

  15. JimmyTheJimJimson on

You’d think they’d stay. Now more than ever we need more officers who want to defend the constitution

  16. Is there still a doubt that we are headed downwards? This is the collapse of the USA, and yes, Trump and Maga are responsible.

  17. Really afraid that when officers of integrity leave in droves that only yes men will remain !
