Would they wear them but ‘forgot’ to turn them on during their ‘raids’?

A federal judge in Chicago, ***Sara L. Ellis***, [*ordered*](https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.ilnd.487571/gov.uscourts.ilnd.487571.66.0.pdf) U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents involved in the “*Operation Midway Blitz*” immigration enforcement effort in the Chicago area ***to wear and activate body-worn cameras during all interactions with the public***, citing concerns that their conduct violated a prior court order. Ellis expressed alarm after seeing video footage of ICE agents deploying tear gas and other forceful tactics and scheduled a hearing with senior ICE officials to assess compliance with her directive. The order aims to *ensure transparency and accountability* in future ICE operations, addressing growing concerns about the agency’s adherence to constitutional limits during enforcement actions.

So far during this administration, the lower court judges have been the adult in the room among people upholding laws. Congressional Republicans have abdicated much of their responsibility to the executive branch at the cost of their constituents. Go judges!

  4. Good. Still won’t silence the people who think doing any kind of immigration enforcement at all is fascist.

  5. Were they ordered to turn them on and keep them on and not cover them when they are committing crimes of violence?

Let’s see if they don’t where them what will the court do then.

It is a great paper trail though for when these turds eventually get sued as a dept and individually. Showing they don’t comply so they don’t have a leg to stand on.

Also these lil people gonna find out real quick like that one ICE agent did. being a fed doesn’t mean shit when you’re operating in state jurisdiction. That’s not federal ground. They can go to jail (some have) they can go to prison (some have) when states start flexing on them I don’t want to hear Krispy Gnome’s mouth, either.

Cause if you think these cops want ICE in their cities walking all over them and usurping their authority I got a bridge to sell you they gonna start getting with the mayors and pushback hard on these fucks in the next coming weeks/months. The kitchen is way too small for two power hungry entities to coexist.

  7. Federal law doesn’t require ICE to wear body cameras. ICE has their own policy on it (which they can change at any time), but it specifically exempts using them during 1st amendment demonstrations like protests. The judge could tell ICE to follow their own policy, but making them wear one at all times is above what the law requires, hence the “judicial activism” charged by the DOJ and the future reversal by appellant courts.
