ICE used to spend about $8B on small arms and now it’s already $71B this year and they are only ever really seen shooting those pepper balls and that’s mostly at reporters it seems. The article puts “Guided Missile warhead and components” in quotation marks, meaning that’s not what was actually purchased. This is the same type of reporting for the Iraq war when it was “parts for weapons of mass destruction” to mean they bought aluminum and farming pesticides.
A linked article does mention that they specifically made purchases at Geissele Automatics, which does sell some Gucci level gun gear. So definitely not an efficient use of taxpayer dollars.
