They’re aware how bad it looks, but they forgot that you can’t hide destroying an entire side of the People’s House.

  2. Transparently covering up and telling people to lie about a building that is not theirs to remodel!

  3. Well sure, how are you going to put in secret passages if everyone is sharing photos… /s

  4. It’s OUR house! We don’t have any say about its destruction–that is only Trump’s will with no accountability or oversight as usual–but we definitely have the right to photograph it!!!

  5. So we magically have the funds for a golden ball room on top of the 40 billion to Argentina. But we can’t fund the ACA so people can have health insurance without having to go bankrupt. And this construction isn’t going to be done until he leaves for office. Let’s face it he, doesn’t plan on leaving and where does this come from when he says, they always wanted to have a ballroom at the whitehouse?

  6. Are they worried about the bad optics of both

    1) Destroying the White House

    and

    2) Taking on a major major renovation project in the middle of a Government shut down? That the tax payers will be on the hook to upkeep going forward….I thought we were trying to cut spending?

There was a bunker installed under that wing when it was constructed. This has way more to do than with just a “ballroom”. We’ve got a tech-billionaire/foreign-compromised admin in the White House, all of whom know public opinion of them is waning.

Don’t for one fking *second*, fall for this simple “reconstruction” facade.

Let me guess, the new ballroom will have:

    1. Statues, paintings, and other markers praising Trump.

    2. Hidden nazi symbolism

  9. So….

The Sec. of the Treasury is now taking hints from the Sec. of War regarding whom should disclose what w/o permission from on-high?

What will it be next? Unless the WH approves, Reporters can’t disclose that 47 went golfing?

  10. It’s not the looks they’re installing equipment. If I were filthy rich I’d donate 250m to have devices that hear heads of state whisper comments to their guest between the moments

  11. it’s interesting that everyone calls it a ballroom, when it’s the Trump palace being built before our own eyes. like Biff’s museum

  12. Why not? I thought the ballroom was something the country should be proud of, and definitely not a blatant vanity project for a scared, insecure old man.

This motherfucker. This fucking thing is going to dwarf the actual White House. And he is doing it just to leave his mark. The next Democrat to hold office needs to obliterate it. But Democrats are too chickenshit to do any that bold.

  14. When the 250 million ballroom actually costs 12 million and now you can’t take photos of it’s construction or you’ll see that

  15. They are worried that people will notice this isn’t a $200 Million project, and will start asking where the other $180 Million went. This is a laundering/embezzlement scheme.

  16. “Most transparent presidency”. Perhaps stop wasting tax payer money while people still have problems affording groceries

Amazing that what Russia and several terrorists would have loved to do for decades can be done by a bunch of MAGA construction workers (because seriously, what genuinely patriotic American willingly rips the side out of the White House) at the instruction of an insane authoritarian.

  18. He’s going to name it after himself isn’t he? And it’s going to stand for over a hundred years… Lol. How does everything go this guy’s way eventually? Insane.
