  1. >According to Trump, the room, which will cover approximately 90,000 total square feet and have a seated capacity of 650 people, would give the White House the space to host “major functions honoring world leaders and other countries without having to install a large and unsightly tent approximately 100 yards away from the main building entrance.”

Trump translation: I’m going to outrage Americans by tearing down part of the White House and spending $200,000,000.00 on an outdated blight so I don’t have to walk 300 feet.

  2. It is kind of crazy how apt a metaphor this whole ballroop fiasco is. Trump tearing down the house of the people to build himself an overly tacky ballroom. I hope the ballroom is swiftly torn down if anyone sane is ever president again

  3. While I do understand the symbolism of the act it is honestly not fair to the company who is simply doing a job they were hired for. Yes the argument is they could have said no but then you just go to the next person, and so on. Saying no to work isn’t a way to run a company. It isn’t their fault our POTUS is shit.

Trump didn’t have a permit to demo it either. Just like many of his previous projects.

They are stupid if there was not money paid upfront. Also, what a security breach here, so many opportunities to do unsavory things with effects in the future.

Why do I not trust any of this? Oh, I know, because the party in power cannot even swear in a new congress member or release files.

  6. It boggles the mind that they continue work on the Jeffrey Epstein Memorial Ballroom during the shutdown. Anyone associated with this atrocity deserves a bad reputation.

  7. If we have another election, and a democrat wins, I will personally fund the demolition of this dumb ass ball room

  8. It’s going to cost obscene amounts of money to undo everything that Apricot Pol Pot has done to this country… but this is one of the things that can’t be undone.

“Where did the money for this project come from?” The money is coming from private company donations, so if we really want to be fair to the contractor, let’s also find out who donated for this project and hold those companies accountable for the destruction of a national treasure.

“Google, R.J. Reynolds, Booz Allen Hamilton, Lockheed Martin, Palantir and NextEra Energy have donated. There have also been donations from firms in the tech, manufacturing, banking and health industries, sources told the outlet.”

These are all companies benefitting from the Trump administration through government contracts. Why has our news media not been more vocal about these companies’ donations?

  10. *”with zero cost to the American Taxpayer!”*

The cost to an historic building is a cost taxpayers had zero say in.

If the ballroom will be separate from the White House, why are they demolishing the East Wing?

Seeing the disregard for the people’s house with the demolition ripping down an entire side of the building is rage inducing.

  11. When we finally get this cancerous scrotum out of office, this ballroom needs to be used to help normal people.

Make it a soup kitchen for the homeless or those in need. Sponsor events there that are designed to help those in need, or that raise people up.

Never use it for shit like political fundraisers. Never host anything in it that caters to the wealthy. Turn this orange shitlord’s momument to his corruption into something that actually makes people’s lives better.

I’m convinced this has been in the works well before Trump, and I’ll get downvoted to hell but working in city government for over 30 years, how can you go from IDEA > PLANS > APPROVALS > BIDDING > BUILD in 9 months at the fucking WHITE HOUSE.

I think Trump is just taking credit for something that’s been in the works for years.

Can’t be a king without a ballroom, and can’t be a fascist regime without collaborators.
