We need to overturn the president’s ability to commute and pardon sentences. I would say the same should be for governors. We’ve seen it abused too often. No one should be able to make such a mockery of our judicial system like that.

Any teacher knows that undeserved leniency on a troublemaker only invite more mischief at school, whether vandalism, bullying or violence.
Who’d be surprised that people who had been told that political violence was OK would engage in additional political violence? Looks like these far-right militants in Weimar Germany the right-wing courts showed lenience to commit even more violence.
