Electricity is only like 20% or so of total energy consumption. The real challenge is industrial heat and transport like container ships and airplanes. Also the first 40% of renewable energy is the ez part, you cant just extrapolate the marginal cost of adding a solar panel to the grid, you gotta do a whole system analysis.
