According to John boy, you’re only ‘duly elected’ if you’re a republican. I hope she is successful in forcing them to do what’s right in any other timeline.

A lawsuit is exactly what they want. It’ll get appealed up to the SCROTUS, the Trump loyalists will rule it’s perfectly legal to stop a duly elected representative from taking office, and then the Democrats will never hold elected office in Congress again. Thus, the fascist takeover will be complete.

    You voted for this, MAGAts.

She can be sworn in by a judge. Traditionally this is done by the Speaker, but it’s not a requirement. I’m not sure why this path is not being considered.

    From our [story](https://news.bgov.com/bloomberg-government-news/grijalva-sues-congress-as-johnson-delays-her-house-swearing-in?utm_source=reddit.com&utm_medium=bgov):

House Speaker Johnson has said that Rep.-elect Grijalva could, and should, answer constituents’ questions and work on their behalf as she awaits her swearing-in.

But Grijalva says she lacks an office budget and a district office needed to reach her constituents as well as a House member website.

  5. 10 years ago, Epstein kompromat was indistinguishable in a sea of compelling, but ultimately implausible 2013-era conspiracy theories, according to the Average Joe.

Around Epstein’s second arrest, imprisonment and especially after his ‘suicide’in 2018, the idea of billionaire sex abuse rings became mainstream. And the more mainstream it became, the more people and publications began to scrutinise the not-insignificant volume of evidence available.

After 9 months of obfuscation by Pam Blondi and Kash ‘See You in Valhalla’ Patel, and after wall-to-wall coverage of the Trump-Epstein connection, most people take it for granted that the two were involved in some kind of trafficking ring.

Now, a US Congress which is famous for not being able to pass ANY kind of legislation is on the precipice of unaminity over the Epstein files.

If Mike Johnson is genuinely and intentionally preventing the swearing-in of a House Member in order to prevent their release, with this level of national pressure, then we have to conclude that whatever’s inside would bring down the administration and could produce an immediate constitutional flash point.

If that’s the case, from the perspective of the White House and Congressional Republican leadership, any delay is probably worthwhile to protect Trump and friends, even if it means that they’re dissolving the constitution more and more with each passing day.

  6. I’m going with…

    >Democrats are weaponizing the courts to overrule congressional majority.

    Justification (lie:)

    >Democrats are ignoring established procedural rules during shutdowns that they passed under Obama.

I’m just not sure if they’re brazen enough to call it illegal (it’s not.)

Republicans are abusing their trifecta of power to not only sustain this shutdown, but avoid a vote on releasing Epstein related materials, and Mike Johnson is using this shutdown as an excuse.

For weeks leading up to the shutdown, Republicans were cancelling votes, refusing to negotiate or participate, forcing recesses, and not even showing up to votes on funding bills earlier in September.

Then at the last minute they tried to push a stopgap CR bill forward, pretending like this wasn’t part of a plan to control the narrative and blame Democrats for a shutdown that Republicans deliberately created the conditions for…

When Democrats offered a CR bill counterproposal of their own that included healthcare protections, Republicans rejected it outright.

And Mike Johnson had the audacity to recently say that Republicans care more about healthcare than Democrats.

Then of course came all the hysteria and lies about Democrats wanting to give healthcare to “illegals.” At the same time, Trump has been exploiting the shutdown to threaten the American people, their livelihoods, and the federal workforce with ultimatums, going so far as to withhold funds and back pay, impose more layoffs, and permanently disrupt important government projects by restricting funding to Democrat run areas.

I’m sorry, who’s “holding the country hostage” now?

Either way, it’s utterly transparent, and not in a good way. Trump isn’t bothering to hide his vindictiveness and cruelty. He couldn’t care less about the people he harms, they’re just collateral damage.

And with this scenario, Mike Johnson is obviously toeing the line to prevent the release of what is very likely information that could implicate Trump in Epstein’s heinous crimes.

    Fuck the GOP.

That said, Johnson can’t indefinitely postpone Grijalva’s swearing in. In fact, Johnson’s whole excuse blaming it on the shutdown is a bunch of BS because he swore in two Republicans during “pro forma” meetings earlier this year.

Pro forma translates to “in form only,” and they are basically very short meetings that a small number of lawmakers can call during shutdowns to keep Congress in session without actually doing any real legislative work.

Johnson doesn’t have the legal authority to block her swearing in indefinitely.

However, if or when she is sworn in and she votes on the discharge petition, Republicans can put up several roadblocks and delay a vote or even kill it… And it goes without saying that this would reflect poorly on Republicans.

If Republicans actually succeed at blocking any and all attempts to release Epstein material, Democrats should relentlessly attack them for covering up this scandal and protecting pedophiles.

This shutdown is all about giving them time to cover their tracks and fabricate evidence before the Epstein files come out.

Quite interesting research to be honest. Melania links with paolo Zampolli who links to Epstein. Trump had been knowing Ghisaine. Zampolli imported European girls. As did trumps modeling agency. Zampolli delivered Melania whom he employed and sent here. Then her and Trump met at a “party” (showcase). And boom. Trumps dad is friends with some of these characters. This research will send you to Iran, America, Europe, Russia, UK. Also Mussad is a key figure. Especially with Trump. Trumps Florida tower that got foreclosed on before his very first campaign for president was an open playground for the Colombian cartel. Notice he’s left Colombians completely alone. Trump was very heavily involved in money laundering. Skip to Epstein. Epstein threatened to turn Trump in for running the largest money laundering scheme ever. Then boom Epstein arrested. Jailed. And dead. Mar a Lago was also a showcasing spot.

Just a change of subject. Bondi refused to investigate trumps university while she was AG of Fla. However the Trump foundation had just previously donated 25 grand in a bid to get her re-elected.

Barron Trump is literally a child conceived thru trafficking.
