  1. We have *just* established that the national guard is supposed to oppose the people and then he muddies the water with this?

  2. Drawing attention to the need I like. Sending the guard who are dragged from their normal jobs to not get paid at the other? Ehhh

  3. Next, post them at the places ICE hangs out at and instruct them to protect the citizens. Be sure to send locals so that orders are followed without hesitation.

    Good.

President Newsom has a ring to it. Day 1 there is an executive order to redistribute wealth.

  5. I love it. Not only is this absolutely the right thing to do, it puts Trump on the spot if he tries to deploy the CA National Guard to some BS.

    Newsom is earning my vote.

  6. He kinda has to be on alert for trouble. If there are no SNAP benefits next month there will be alot of scared and angry people.

  7. Not only is this a great political move, but humanitarian and gives people, especially soldiers, a sense of purpose and something to value.

  8. My wife works for one of the largest food banks in the state. They only found out about the plan when the NG units arrived at their facilities.

is it possible for blue states to lock up their national guards with good natured projects? or can the fed override that (i assume)

  10. This is exactly what I was suggesting a couple weeks ago. Glad he followed through on it.

I wonder if there’s a way to move all of the arms and equipment the CA National Guard owns to a space that the Governor controls.

Just so if Trump tries to take control of them, they have no weapons or transport vehicles to bring with them.

  11. Without asking the food banks if they actually need volunteers. If anything, this is just to keep national guard troops from being federalized.

Food banks need cash not bodies
