  1. From reporter Paul Blumenthal:

Two top House Democrats sent a letter to President Donald Trump warning him that his effort to order the Department of Justice to pay him $230 million in taxpayer funds as compensation for its investigations into him during the Biden administration is both unconstitutional and illegal.

The [letter](https://big.assets.huffingtonpost.com/athena/files/2025/10/23/68fa468fe4b071f32a272ada.pdf) from Reps. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, and Robert Garcia (D-Calif.), the top Democrat on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, notes the Constitution’s Domestic Emoluments Clause and the Federal Tort Claims Act.

The letter goes on to demand the White House hand over a litany of information about Trump’s “ongoing conspiracy” to raid the U.S. Treasury for his own benefit.

  2. What about investigations into market manipulation and conflict of interest? How come the guy that can announce trade wars nilly-willy has sons working in investment companies? These people should be in jail, not in the White House.

Majority of Americans have voted for a convicted criminal.

What did you expect him to do? Do good deeds?

  4. I think that train has already left the station. Trump wouldn’t have gone public if the machinery wasn’t already in place to make it happen. That’s how he’s been working and getting away with things since January.

Has anyone checked if he’s already paid himself out, and this is just “missing money”. Like, has the horse already left the barn

People are struggling to make rent and even afford groceries and this POS is about to pay himself $230mil out of our own taxes. I’d like to see any MAGA dipshit try and justify why this is ok.

Weird headline. Why is theft in quotes? As if this could be anything other than blatant theft.

He has dementia and can no longer control his dark impulses. He’ll continue to do whatever the hell he wants until someone/thing stops him.

  9. how has trump convinced the masses that he is entitled to our tax dollars without congressional approval. you know, representation for the taxation? if anyone has heard trump speak for more than 5 minutes you’d think they’d stay away from him. yet, somehow, no one is stopping him?

  10. Trump is taking money directly from the US Treasury for his own personal gain. That level of corruption is absolutely staggering.

In a functioning democracy, there would be unanimous support from Congress for immediate impeachment and removal.

No taxes without representation. We need a complete shutdown of everything to show them we still have some power

  12. Money is probably siphoned already-Trump has to find a way to pad back the Treasury before an official notices. 🤨 Someone please slap them to wake them up.

I recommend questioning John Roberts first, since his rulings basically allowed the executive branch to run in such a way that Trump can do this.

That judge is, historically, going to be remembered as one of the primary causes of the worst failure of democracy in American history. That’s his legacy. One of history’s villains.

  15. Why not go for a full billion at this point? Dude is corrupt as fuck and his own goons are enabling it.

He obliterated the U.S. government to save money for himself.

My hope from when this started. Will someone please sue his highness into oblivion

  17. Jeffries needs to do something other than saying it’s bad. Say no to him. Do something about it. Or else this is just hot air.

  18. > ‘theft’

No, it’s actual theft. No “scare quotes,” here. Call it what it fucking is: THEFT.
