From another subreddit, from what I heard he was generally unpopular with like literally everyone. That should tell you something.

>Walters’ tenure oversaw a dramatic rise in calls to the Rainbow Youth Project’s hotline. In the weeks following the 2024 death of 16-year-old transgender student Nex Benedict, the crisis line saw a 238% rise in calls from Oklahoma.
>“Following Ryan Walters’s resignation, we have noticed a substantial decrease in crisis calls from Oklahoma,” Lance Preston, the organization’s executive director, said. “The relief expressed by callers is palpable, and we are grateful for the positive impact his departure has had on the mental well-being of our community.”
Good. The children can smile now that Ryan Walters is gone. He should never have been in office to begin with. I just wonder what it will take for Oklahomans to realize that constantly voting Republican is why our state is 50th in education, top 10 in domestic violence, top 5 in child hunger, #1 in incarceration of women, and top 5 in teen pregnancy.
Ryan Walters, Stitt, Fallin, and the whole Oklahoma Republican Party have brought our state down from average to dreadful. It’s horrible. Oklahomans need to vote for better.

Isn’t Oklahoma ranked **last** in education out of all of the states?

It’s crazy that Oklahoma (OKLA-freakin-HOMA!) is already trying to undo Ryan Walters’ failed, easily corruptible nonsecular public policy while other states and the federal government are running headfirst into it.

Imagine what’ll happen to the lines when Trump keels over.

He’s the guy who, among many other desperate attempts for headlines, tried to make bibles mandatory in schools. Specifically Trump bibles.

What I want to know is how did he get that position in the first place?
