  1. Used to be proud that my state had taken the politics out of redistricting. Offered a little smug satisfaction when I heard about all the hassle, but the republicans recent attempts to use it to cling on to power, I realize it was unilateral disarmament in the middle of a fucking war.

It’s similar to the whole ‘when they go low, we go high.’ It offered that smug satisfaction and sense of moral superiority, but one of the reasons they went low is because it fucking worked. We need all weapons available and be willing to use them. The right has them and they will use them.

Our country is in this mess because liberals rolled over from the start… allowing 2 Senators for each state (even rural ones with tiny populations) when writing the Constitution, then not sufficiently punishing the Confederate states after the Civil War, and now not expanding the Supreme Court or prosecuting Trump for his crimes while they had power… Democrats need to grow a spine & stand the fuck up for our country or it will continue to be ruled by the ignorant, regressive, ass backwards red states.

  3. They literally found a Blue Dog in the Ukraine…I thought they were extinct?🤷‍♂️

Newsom should’ve gone after ALL Republican districts. Democrats need to get Republicans the fuck outta their states.

  5. Yes it is. Look at how Schumer responded after being asked if he was voting for Mamdani. Look how long it took Jeffries to endorse Mamdani.

Why the fuck do democrats have to defend what they are doing? They are redistricting because the gop decided to cheat and change the rules in the middle of the game.
Also, wild that they go after democrats but ignore and don’t ask the gop to defend the bullshit they’re doing.

  7. The Democratic party of my grandparents, parents, and kids is so well known for rolling over they could sponsor a log rolling contest.

  8. I mean it still is, grandpa is just finally starting to realize the old ways may not cut it as much anymore.

Words are cheap. I’m not a grandmother, but the last time I checked, the Democrats very much were the surrender party.

  10. My grandpa’s Democratic Party rebuilt Europe, passed the Civil Rights Acts. They also did some really bad stuff like Vietnam. At no point would I think of my grandpa’s party as “rolling over.” They set the bar for actually doing things when they were in power. Pedantic nitpick, I guess.

  11. My grandparents democratic party fought nazis. The roll over democrats was about 95% the same democrats that are in there now.

  12. Oh there’s still plenty of time for dems to roll over. As much as I want them to rediscover their spines, I’ll believe it when I see it

“This isn’t your grandfather’s Democratic Party that just rolled over. Ignore the fact that we ousted the guy who wanted to primary Democrats who were happy to roll over.”

  14. Ken Martin wanting to act like he’s such a rule follower himself. 🤣 Minnesota remembers, Ken. It was such a laugher when he got the chair over O’Malley. Twas just another sign the DNC is not a serious group. David Hogg found out. It shouldn’t be this hard to defeat fascism, but it sure seems to be for the Dems.

Sadly redistricting is a race to the bottom that Republicans started. But, of course, this is what Dems will fight tooth and nail for: their own jobs (not free health care, Palestine, wealth distribution, military bloat).

  16. My grandfather’s Democratic Party? I think you mean the ‘every year of my life up to now’ Democratic Party.

  17. Wait the Dems are still rolling over LOL.

My grandfather’s Democratic party did the New Deal and the Civil Rights Act. The best we ever got was Obamacare.

  18. “Yeah, we can roll over perfectly fine on our own!”

The Democrats need to be shaken up hard. Everyone over 45 needs to retire and make room for new blood.

  19. What’s there to even defend? The democrats all voted to make gerrymandering illegal. Every single republican voted against it.

This is just the republicans literally getting what they asked for.

til that the Democratic party in the past had far less remnants of a spine than the contemporary one. It’s kinda impressive to be that “flexible” and have that much staying power nonetheless.
