I wonder what shares GOP politician are either shorting or buying. Because whenever and whatever Trump decides to do is when they’ll shoot up.

  2. On any given day it must suck to actually be Mike Johnson, but on days like today when he has to juggle [blaming Democrats](https://mikejohnson.house.gov/services/government-shutdown.htm) for continuing to keep the government shutdown while appeasing a president doing [all caps rants](https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/trump-makes-power-grab-terrifying-060356603.html) about how Republicans can end it at any time?

If he were actually on the job rather than keeping the House in recess I would say he’s earning his salary.

Just kidding, no he wouldn’t be.

  3. Imagine a world where a government shutdown doesn’t mean millions of people stop getting paid or vital services grind to a halt!!!

Where healthcare is a right, not a privilege. Where nobody goes bankrupt from a hospital bill. Where teachers earn enough to actually live and don’t crowdsource classroom supplies. Where mass shootings aren’t just another Tuesday. Where college is affordable, childcare is accessible, and prescription drugs don’t cost more than your rent. Where every worker gets pto, parental leave, a living wage. Where climate policy is based on science, not donors.

And when the government shuts down, life doesn’t collapse, because the system was built to serve the public… not to use ordinary people as bargaining chips.

That world already exists. It’s called Norway.

  4. Day 34 and no end in sight. Republicans refusing to negotiate. Trump is happy with his continued failures because he hates Americans

It took only 10 ATC employees to call in sick last time to end the last shutdown. 10. Out of a total of over 11 thousand employees. Just 10.

Good news is [it’s starting to happen.](https://abcnews.go.com/US/delays-safety-concerns-shortages-air-traffic-controllers/story?id=127055961) I predict this shutdown will be over sometime this coming week when Congress gets a phone call or two from Richie rich on why their private jet is grounded and they can’t get to their sex island
