If it was anyone else, they would not have waited until “tomorrow”. He would have been cuffed and jailed immediately.

Trump is living his best life knowing that he can do whatever he wants and his corrupt administration will let him get away with it.

  3. New headline a week from now: *“Justice department aide tried for treason for saying Trump should be arrested”*

  4. And by not arresting him because of the position he holds we have sacrificed our all our country was built on.

Why not arrest him? What makes him special? He’s the most unpopular president in American history.

Most of the country disapproves of him, no? Arrest him.

Billionaires will be fine. They will survive this and nature can begin healing.

  7. The only problem would be indicting him for all his crimes.
Not because getting an indictment would be difficult. It would not.
But because there have been so many crimes. Hard to address them all.

  8. If it was anybody else he wouldn’t be arrested tomorrow, he’d have already been rotting in Leavenworth for years.

I don’t need this story to come back around, it just pisses me off all over again.

Blatantly MAGA judge gave him a pass on a very serious espionage crime.

  10. *”The law cannot protect anyone unless it binds everyone, and it cannot bind anyone unless it protects everyone”*

  11. He’s a rich white man, America will do nothing.

If anything he’ll get that lump sum from the DOJ as reparations for not allowing him to win the election in 2020 to rape America sooner.

Don’t you all remember the outcome of the civil war? The result was the same as modern democrats saying “Let’s heal and move on.” And history might not always repeat but it certainly rhymes.

Serious question: why isn’t it illegal, or even treasonous, for a politician to lie to their constituents?

  13. I mean let’s be real. This is just the distillation of the entire problem we’ve had this century. Both sides, though Republicans are obviously worse.

    * If anyone stole tens of millions in jewels, there’d be a manhunt. If a CEO steals tens of millions in pensions, their company might get a minor fine while the thief enjoys the swankiest retirement ever.
    * If anyone took funds from a foreign state and then helped that state bomb US allies, murder journalists and US citizens, and weaponize the first amendment to attack any Americans who disagreed…that would be textbook treason and they’d all be on trial worried about the death penalty. That statement describes about 90% of congress right now, and they’ll never face consequences because they’re the ones who have decided there’s nothing wrong about what they’re doing.
    * What happened to the people who pulled us into Iraq again? Oh right, the surviving ones are pulling us into war with Iran while holocausting Gaza.
    * What happened to the people driving the 2000s financial crisis? Oh right, many of them got filthy rich off their deviancy and went on to cause the bubble we’re seeing now.
    * Health insurance companies have likely killed more Americans than all our world wars combined. I live near the Coney Island train station where all the murders happen. If someone got me there, they’d approve one donut’s worth of police overtime. When serial killer Bryan Thompson got got, we spent the operating budget of a small city on performative “of course you matter to us” CEO reassurance.

All these shits need to go down fast and hard to restore a veneer of legitimacy. People do anything because they think they can get away with anything. If pulling shit like the above got ~10 years in prison minimum, how fast do you think incidents would drop?

  14. The trial would have happened if Biden hadn’t refused to prosecute Trump for nearly two years. Biden thought that it was improper for a president to prosecute their political rivals.

  15. It’s called presidential impunity, and John Roberts said it’s in the constitution… somewhere.

  16. looks like there’s a concerted effort to keep the upvotes under 1,000 going on. WTF reddit?
