  1. And the establishment on both sides is throwing all their resources at trying to stop him from showing people that their government can do more for them. That’s the elites’ biggest fear, the masses waking up and demanding more. That’s why they spend so much trying to divide people on petty culture war issues, so they stay distracted and scared and angry at their neighbors rather than angry at the people at the top pulling the strings in their own favor.

  2. It’s going to be a poisoned challece if he doesn’t live up to the staggering high hopes of people.

  3. At this time in our history, have to believe that in the title, ‘filling disillusioned Americans with hope and inspiration’, will have to be let’s wait and see.

  4. All I know is that the usual suspects were quick and fierce in their attempts to tear Mr. Mamdani down, and it made it all the easier for me to take notice of him even as someone who will likely never see his name on my ballot.

Bernie Sanders should be senate minority leader.

He’s actually endorsing Democrats and helping to get them elected, unlike Schumer.

We’ve let supply side economics dominate the conversation for 40 years, we’ve given it a chance and all it’s done is give us a trillionaire and broken arms that cost 3 grand. It’s time to make room for subsidizing the demand side of the equation.

  7. Let’s not give this 34 year old impossible to live up to standards. I don’t think the NYC mayor can save us. I do hope he’s successful and makes New York more affordable and livable.

I can’t wait to see what Mamdani can accomplish as Mayor. Leaders with this kind of spark are rare.

I think the feeling is nationwide as well. Although many from both parties really dislike Gov.Newsom, but he gives me hope as well. We need this instead of feeding eternally defeated.

Mamdani calls himself a “democratic socialist” when he’s a communist. Listen to what he has said. He has openly spoken of the seizure of the means of production & of the abolition of private property if that’s necessary to achieve the goals he sees for society.

He’s “just” a mayor and can’t do that (I hope), but his views are communist, not DS, which is just a Trojan horse. The DSA is using the Democrat Party, which has become unrecognizable.

It’s been eye opening watching both sides gritting and gnashing their teeth when someone who won’t suck Israel’s dick gets just a little political power.

  12. What has he done exactly?

I’m from Australia. What happened in NYC has not much to do with though. But just passed too many posts about this guy while scrolling my phone.

Too many shout-outs and ads about him. But none of them mentioned what he actually did in his job. Given he’s a socialist (meaning a level-1 communist according to what I learned from the biggest communist country when I was a child), I’m feeling scared.

  13. The outlook is a bit past “disillusioned” at this point but I’ll take any hope we can get.
