    Snippet:

    * Fox News host Laura Ingraham shared a gloomy prophecy for the GOP after weeks of government shutdown.
    * The Donald Trump devotee spoke with Republican senator Roger Marshall on The Ingraham Angle Friday, and asked the Kansas rep whether he‘d move to end the filibuster, as the president has been demanding. Ingraham urged Marshall and his colleagues to put an end to the inactivity, warning that the GOP would be defeated in the midterms unless they get their act together.
    * “You can’t ride on the Big Beautiful Bill into the midterms, you’re all gonna get wiped out, I’m telling you,” Ingraham said. “The president sees it, he knows it.”
    * Opening the debate, Ingraham complained that Republicans were “holding onto the filibuster with a death grip.”
    * Trump recently shared a controversial new plan to ditch the filibuster requirement completely, with Ingraham suggesting it’s the only way for the GOP to “start doing things for the American people.”
    * Despite resistance from many GOP lawmakers, including from Senate Majority Leader John Thune, Marshall told Ingraham he was open to Trump’s repeated pleas to end centuries-old check on power.
    * “Laura, every day that this shut down goes on the more I’m convinced we need to end the filibuster,“ Marshall said.
    * He later added: “Just two years ago, every Democrat senator that’s still in office that’s here today voted to end the filibuster. Unless you can guarantee to me that the Democrats won’t do it then we need to seriously consider it.”
    * “The only other option I can think of is enshrining it as a constitutional amendment,” Marshall continued. “But this absolutely should be the conversation debate today for the Republican caucus.”
    * Ingraham then turned her ire towards a different GOP senator, complaining that Louisiana’s John Kennedy wouldn’t vow to make the drastic move.

I don’t see GOP going extinct after all these, but GOP would just be all lost again like 2010. Hopefully when all these are over, they would go through the reborn moment again. And this time, they would get away from MAGA and actually go a better route

  3. Fox is worried about the GOP getting wiped out, I’m worrying about my friends and family going hungry. Nice priorities.

For all the billions the Russians might’ve spent trying to bring down America, turns out they just had to wait for one homegrown idiot to do it free of charge.

  5. My dream: Progressive Democrats win big in 2026 and the first order of business is to impeach Trump and every Republican who has broken his oath of office going back to Trump’s first term, with special focus on all the Republicans who voted not to accept the election results on January 6th. And of course all of those Republicans currently enabling Trump’s almost daily authoritarian and unconstitutional acts in this term.

The GOP leaders don’t know it but Trump has essentially turned them all into Suicide Bombers. What an insane thing to watch. I now wonder if he just wants to kill the whole party for some unknown and deranged reason because frankly, if I didn’t know better, I would now wonder if he’s actually working for the Democrats.

Wiped out? I sure hope so. But optimistically how about starting over from 0? Rebuild and correct the wrongs of MAGA. And remove anyone who was even affiliated from Trump and have them barred for life.

  8. Honestly! The Dems threw them a bone to save face and agree to a one year extension to fund Obamacare Subsidies. Any normal time that would have been grabbed that up but because Trump wants to kill, at all cost to others, anything associated with Obama’s name to it Trump and the GOP said no to America. They now own 100% of the shutdown without a doubt. So carry on.

I refuse to buy into all this left-wing hopium. The amount of scandals that Trump has been involved in since his first term should have sunk his political career a thousand times over; I don’t believe that the American people are turning on Trump or the GOP, because most people pay no attention at all to any of this and will just believe whatever the White House tells them to.

I’m not saying I don’t want the GOP to be decimated in the midterms and the next presidential election (of course I do!!!) but it feels like a lot of news media is trying to create this narrative that the Republicans are circling the drain and I fear that it’s going to lead to a lot of complacency on the part of people on the left.

  11. It’s not the shutdown that is going to kill them. It’s the files that get released when the shutdown ends.

The GOP went all in trying to cover up the truth.  It’s not going to end well for them.

Every Republican who does not stand up is guilty of following a leader instead of working for their constituents. Start doing the job you were elected to do. The economy is going to be in shambles, but maybe this is part of Trump’s revenge tour to decimate the country!

  13. All they gotta do is cave on this one thing (this one thing being letting Obamacare alive a little longer)

  14. LoudPerspective9812 on

Lol yes and there is absolutely nothing they can do to end this. Swear to God, that the idea of raising wealthy taxes a bit to rebalance their stupid bill and cover ACA is not even an option to them says so much. That they can’t humble themselves and negotiate…their own egos are eating them from the inside like cancer.
May their downfall be spectacular to ensure this becomes a lesson.

  15. SonDadBrotherIAm on

Interestingly, they’re making a narrative that if Democrats get a chance they’re going to end the filibuster even though when they had a chance they never did it so because we “believe” they’re going to do it we might as well end it first. That is their argument

  16. ApocalypseNurse on

I sure fucking hope so. The GOP is a malignant tumor that revels in chaos and pain and protects pedophiles.

  17. Senator Lindsey Graham once said that Republicans would “get destroyed” if they nominated Donald Trump as their presidential candidate.

    This was in 2016.

The best things come to those who wait, I guess.

  18. If I had to bet on it, I know people will forget all about this come the midterms. Just like they do every election cycle.
