The GOP at this point is on record saying they would rather starve children than pay another $23 billion so the poor can have healthcare. Historically I believe when the speaker is incapacitated in one form or another members of the House have been sworn in by judges or other authorities.
It’s going on 2 months since Grijalva won her election and Johnson still hasn’t sworn her in meaning Arizona is lacking state representation in the federal government.
I know once the nightmare of the Trump administration is over we as a nation are going to have to re-examine a lot of our institutions. But that assumes that the country does not dissolve into civil war because of the actions of people like Mike Johnson who seems to be a choke point for democracy.
