THIS IS NOT HOW CUTTING THE DEFICIT WORKS. Republican “budget hawks” don’t care about the deficit.

This would be a Trump-branded redistribution of wealth to try to buy votes that does nothing meaningful to address wages, benefits, or affordability. Quite the contrary, when every American gets an extra $2k it’s probably going to push inflation up.

Also, Trump seemingly wants to make the tariff case even more precarious for the Supreme Court, who, if they rule against him, will be seen as blocking the next round of “Trump checks.”

  2. Bullshit. Is that like how we would all lose 393  pounds by the midterms if Doc Oz prescribed all of us the GLP-1 drug?

So he makes us pay more and then cuts us a check for a fraction of that to act like he is a savior despite being the one making us pay more to begin with?

Here’s an idea, seize Elon Musk’s trillion dollar pay package (liquidate it of course) and pay everyone $3,000. Or pay all SNAP recipients $24,000. Or pay down about 2% of the national debt.

Yeah fucking right, ya Orange Cheese Stain. American’s ain’t gettin’ shit.

  5. I wish I could just become a brain dead idiot and live a delightfully deluded life. It must be so simple to just hear blatant lies and believe them so whole heartedly. It’s such a simple existence.

Nope. I’ve lost more than that and will continue to lose even more since the price increases he caused isn’t going to go away.

I want to see a $17 trillion+ class action lawsuit against Trump, his company, his administration, and the federal government

  7. This just so when the Court rules it’s unconstitutional he can then paint himself and his supporters as a victims of the court, and claim the tariffs were actually a good idea.

It’s a nakedly craven political ploy to frame the narrative for the midterms.

It’s also a not so subtle message to ask the court to give him time to try and pass this as legislation, which would then legalize the tariffs. Watch the decision get delayed now. There were probably 6 votes on the court to overturn, but Goursch & Barrett (and maybe Roberts too) would prefer this kind of out and will probably wait it out until the end of the term if there’s a prospect of it passing.

  8. Avg family will lose $1700 -3700 per year but TACO think a one time payment of 2 grand will make everything fine.

“We’ll mail the checks in two weeks, right after we tell you what our health care plan is.”

  10. That’ll help when my insurance premiums go up $12,000 a year. 🤦‍♂️

Do I even need to put a /S here?

2k is not covering the amount my health insurance is going up so he can fuck off

  12. Ok, so he steals billions of our dollars, destroys our future and thinks giving us $2k of our own money he stole from us with the tariffs will make any difference?
VOTE OUT EVERY REPUBLICAN AT EVERY LEVEL.

  13. And then there will be a price hike on everything because the Oligarchy will know we all have $2000 more to spend….yay!

  14. We suddenly have $2k for everyone but we don’t have SNAP money to feed hungry kids. Makes sense?

  15. So I guess the plan is to just lie about giving people money to try and increase the popularity of every shitty policy?

The ironic part is SNAP is the closest thing we have to actually handing people money and allowing them to decide what to do with it. It’s an overwhelmingly successful program and one that Republicans are withholding. You’d have to be especially dense to believe anything this administration says about putting money in your pockets.

If I’ve learned anything in my 30 years of life, it’s that when the republican party decides to give everyone money. Everything is about to get a lot worse.

  17. Brace for “We can issue them as soon as the Democrats reopen the government” followed by “lol what stimulus checks?”
