Dems leaders are stupid cowards. You can’t ‘preserve norms’ while the other side is busy torching them. Chuck has got to go.

House Democrats at several points along the ideological spectrum are furious at their Senate colleagues for backing a funding bill to reopen the government without securing an extension to the Affordable Care Act tax credits.

Centrist Democratic senators are set to vote with Republicans on a continuing resolution packaged with a three-bill appropriations minibus, but comments from one of the most politically vulnerable House incumbents and a contender for a swing-state Senate seat were among those calling the funding deal unveiled Sunday insufficient.

“I assume all of us that have been fighting to protect our constitutions from soaring healthcare costs will vote against this,” Rep. Greg Landsman (D-Ohio), a leader in the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus, said in a text message.

  3. Those who sided with Republicans literally caved and got nothing in return. Check their bank accounts, bet there’s some suspicious transactions recently.

Now this would be spin as a Democrat shutdown, and ngl they deserve it. You make people suffer for 40 days without nothing in return.

So fucking useless all of them, always knew they would cave.

  5. If Fearless Leader Schumer hadn’t wanted this to happen, it wouldn’t have happened. If the party as a whole actually wanted to fight for the people, these clowns would be threatened with expulsion and removal from committee assignments and fundraising assistance.

But we all know that this is all a charade at this point.

  6. Does anyone know the defense of this? Why cave now when it was hurting the republican party? (Edit: Booker and Peters flipped to no!!)

  7. MiddleAgedSponger on

The Dems got 8 to cave for the wealthy donors and the GOP. These same Dems couldn’t get 2 to cave for voting rights or a minimum wage hike? It’s the same story every single time.

  8. Pathetic. Once again, the cowardice shines through. No spine leads to the continuance of this bullshit.

  9. Pretty sure it’s because their rich masters didn’t want their flights being impacted.

We can feed our communities, even when the government doesn’t, but the rich actually rely on the government.

The short term gain was not worth the long term pain here. We’re about to have the real life Hunger Games in America. Both political parties, the Guardians of Pedophiles and the incompetent Democrats who shoot themselves in head due to piss poor management, are really driving us to the brink here

    What the absolute fuck.

Chuck Schumer might literally be the most embaressing figure of the 21st century. So they’re just going to reopen the government and not get anything for it. They didn’t even get the tax credits. They’re voting to fuck over everyone for norms.

  12. What a bunch of fucking cowards. Now the Republicans were right, the shutdown was on the do nothing Democrats. Please primary them.

  14. Schumer got a bunch of retiring senators (and Fetterman) to take the heat so he could vote no. Fuck him, burn this party down.

  15. I’ll immediately donate to any fund that will primary senators that vote to cave on this without any changes.

  16. The Republicans made a deal that the dopey Democrats went for. No way Trump allows the Republicans to honor that agreement.

Awesome that we went so quickly from all these good vibes on the left from the recent elections to this PR shit show thanks to the craven, spineless leadership of Schumer and other establishment Dems.

  18. Ok_Conversation9750 on

Not that I think it will make a shit bit of difference, but I just wrote Shumer to tell him to get fucked and kiss his career goodbye.

  19. Unfucking believable. Win elections, have the polls, base is motivated, some rich donors get annoyed about flights. Fold.

  20. Seriously why are we not expelling these people from the party. If you don’t vote with the party why bother giving them the funding.

  21. ApprehensiveNet5469 on

per cspan. enough dems have voted yes to advance funding measure . The democrats caved . It’s over. Unbelievable.

  22. kingofshitmntt on

It’s almost as if the democratic party is just another wing of the big business party alongside republicans .

We need a real labor party in this country. It’s the only way working people will be defended with actual power. Because right now you get free market capitalist extremists, and “lets put a band aid on these issues that cause inequality, allow it to get used and worn, never actually fix anything, and use the threat of the band-aid being torn off” on the other hand.
