This entire episode proves that Johnson is a total dick and Trump toady. He also has no balls. But in the end it will all come back to bite him. He needs to remember that what goes around comes around, and Democrats will have their day, sooner or later.

How much you wanna bet those 8 that voted to end the shutdown also happened to have been flipped by Trump to not vote on Epstein?

GOP and their lies. Believe this only when it happens. And while at it, when will they release those Epstein files?

Crack open those files! A seismic shock to the current corrupt world order via rounding up all the pigs involved and jailing them forever would do the world such incredible good. If you want to be extreme, distribute their fortunes to support women and other victims of human trafficking and abuse for eternity with the capital. Hire Helpers and Healers to treat the trauma and provide ongoing support. Hire law enforcement who specialize in taking down these expansive tentacled syndicates and use the money to lock em up!

  5. If there’s any good news about the Senate Dems caving on ending the shutdown, it’s that the House is finally going to reconvene after Johnson’s months-long refusal to open the House, which means Adelita Grijalva will be sworn in and become the pivotal 218th signature on the Epstein files discharge petition. The House vote on releasing the Epstein files is finally coming, and we’ll finally get Republicans on the record about whether it’s more important for them to protect pedophiles or to get justice for Epstein’s victims.

  6. 8 democrats cave to Republicans on the government shutdown and now suddenly Moses Mike Grinder Johnson will have Grijalva sworn in? Looks like deals were made behind closed files.

I like how this article is literally not reporting any new information, but is insisting Mike Johnson will be true to his word. Get fucked.

I have a feeling the Dems and MAGAts made some deals we haven’t heard about yet. Something like “We’ll forget the Epstein files and reopen the government if you swear in Grijalva and support ACA subsidies.”

  9. I have a feeling the entire purpose of the shutdown was played into by the Republicans in order that they could stall and buy time to work out who would pull their names from supporting the petition.

It wouldn’t surprise me at all if she was sworn in, and suddenly just enough people on the right pulled their support to make the whole process fall apart.

  10. The only reason this is happening is that some deal has been made to ensure the files never get released. Our loathsome government is irrevocably corrupt.

The headline makes it sound like a done deal. The article says “expected to” on the basis of comments the historically super-dee-duper honest Mike Johnson made some time ago.

    Horseshit, in other words.

  12. What’s to bet they have one person going to vote against releasing the list so her vote won’t matter anymore

  13. So in my mind, this means they’ve managed to flip some house votes to avoid the release of the Epstein files

  14. It read “The so called Epstein Files”. Not sure why this article is denying the existence of them. They exist. We know they exist. Keep seeing it’s far worse than previously known even.

  15. We will see what happens considering a whistle blower just spoke about maxwell getting preferential treatment behind bars and planning to ask trump to commute her sentence.

  16. Why would they be afraid of the Epstein files? They’ve had plenty of time to delete all evidence of anyone MAGA-adjacent.

  17. I’d be surprised if there is anything left in the files that are damning at this point. Either that or the files will never be found.
