  1. The dems are plenty awake and doing exactly what they’re supposed to be doing for their corpo overlords.

  2. scrotalsmoothie on

I have no confidence in the Dems. Too many spineless hanger-ons and establishment blowhards.

We need to clean house and move the party towards progressives.

  3. nasorrty346tfrgser on

THe dems are not united. GOP is united, like they would vote across the party line only when they know their vote is pure performative.

    Not the 8 dems.

  4. I don’t think I’ve quite been this disappointed in Dems yet. Like the bar is low, don’t get me wrong, but like this was just purely pathetic in every way. I haven’t seen any way to spin this other than “oh the politicians are actually corrupt to the core”. You were clearly shown that your party supports the hold, we got out and mass voted, an absolute beating….caves immediately after. Like what the actual fuck.

  5. It’s a good thing the Dems capitulated to save air travelers from any inconvenience.

    That will show him!

  6. I’ve been a democrat or independent for my entire voting life. I’ve been disgusted, disappointed, and heartbroken many times at their abject disloyalty. I didn’t support Clinton, held my wrath in and voted for Kamala, but I’m so angry at their betrayal, I cannot really think about it at this stage. Yes, I’m upset at people not getting paid and at snap. But the community was coming together. People forget the ACA was fucked when Obama waited and tried to be bipartisan. I’m so over them and they will never get another penny from me. We must have another (not a billionaire) option.

Any headline that mentions democrats doing anything than roll over and take it up the wazoo is meaningless now.

They had a chance, they blew it spectacularly…

  8. Dems are wide awake and they just showed you most of them don’t care. Just like the Republicans across the aisle they only represent about 25% of the electorate. 53% of US Voters have no party affiliation and are either some other party or independent voters.

100% of the House and over 90% of the Senate come from one of our 2 “major” parties. Both of them take massive money from the insurance lobby, media outlets and tons of corporations that don’t pay living wages.

Almost no one in the House or Senate is on the side of the average voter. They are bought and paid for by large corporate interest and they don’t want you to have an affordable life. They want you to think they’re your only hope of being saved from the other guy.

Stop voting for anyone who takes corporate or dark PAC money regardless of the D / R next to their name. If they take in more money from those donors than the people they represent could ever match, they’re never going to vote for the changes that would actually benefit regualrr people.

He was very likely going to give in and prob pretty soon.

But no these idiot dems have to give up.

I guess it’s fine because of the holidays, at least fed workers will get paid and people on SNAP will get their money. But the shutdown just seems pointless since Dems got nothing out of it. A ‘promise’ from republicans is basically nothing btw.

Party of controlled opposition. The American people should wake up to the horseshit in front of us.

  11. DupreeDiamondBlues on

I’m not disappointed, I’m just over the Democratic Party. There are great democratic representatives, but the party as a whole is the ouraboros of American politics.

At least MAGA can rally a base.

  12. I know we don’t actually discuss the article here, but this seems like the pertinent bit:

    > On Monday, President Trump exploded in a deranged Truth Social rant, attacking air traffic controllers who took time off during the shutdown. He even bizarrely said money will be sent to those who did not. It occurs to us that the absurdity of Trump’s tirade revealed that his stance in the shutdown is weak: He’s the one experiencing most of the political pain from it, and all he can do is shriek wildly at government workers, urging them to minimize that pain for him.

  13. The American people drew the line at healthcare. 8 of our /s/ champions hopped over it as soon as the fight got tough. Pathetic surrender will not win any battle. Clean house before it burns down from neglect.

  14. Is it time to conceded the argument that both parties are the same simply because when the chips are down they answer to the same master and definitely not you?

  15. Uh, I hate to break this to anyone still on the fence, but Dems ain’t wakin’ up except to blink every now and then.

  16. Blackboard_Monitor on

Who cares if the Dems wake up, they’ll still just snatch defeat from the jaws of victory again.

  17. At the end of the day this demonstrates that our government has been compromised by “Big Money”. Neither side, at the party level, is working for their constituents. They’re all working for their donations. Big Money is how you get elected now. Without them, you lose your job in the next primary. So they bend over backwards any time the wallets tell them to.

Sure there are exceptions like AOC and Zohran, but that’s why they are constantly under attack and on the outside. The money-havers can’t let them become the norm.

Each new thing that Trump does is treated like it is the last straw, the one thing that finally will make things change. He’s been doing the same shit for fucking years and nothing has changed other than him getting more and more power and America getting more and more fucked. I don’t know what my point is other than fuck Trump, fuck MAGA, and fuck the stupid fucking Democrats that keep giving in to the orange pedophile fuckhead. Fuck!

    TL:DR fucking angry rant

  19. If Dems haven’t awoken during Trump’s previous rages, why should they now? Just ask Chucky Schumer.

  20. Is it not obvious at this point that corporate, establishment democrats are just controlled opposition, and they really are not trying to accomplish anything?

It is simply not possible to be part of the market and do the bidding of corporations and simultaneously claim to be fighting for workers, middle class, the disabled, and the poor.

  21. We need ranked choice voting. I’m tired of voting “blue no matter who.” I’ve done that for decades. I want to be able to vote for a different party and not have my vote wasted

  22. Alternative-Bunch91 on

Poor people not getting food is one thing but rich people not being able to fly is the reason for the cave, in my opinion.

  23. These kinds of Democrats are complicit with the Republicans and always have been. They don’t represent the interests of working people and won’t unless the penalty is greater than the rewards of being wealthy and tapped into the insider trading and other miscellaneous connections.

  24. how about it wake up THE POPULATION?

because politics and law are not stopping the nazis.

check 1940’s history on how nazis are being stopped.

  25. Breaking news…. it won’t wake them up. They’re asleep and they just threw away any leverage they had. Morons.

  26. Alternative_Hope6238 on

So, yall want Dems to just let folks starve?? I’m warm and fed, but many are not. It’s not costing me to hold out for subsidies. However, I know many are in dire straits and can’t afford to wait.

  27. Thats_All_I_Need on

Ah yeah this is the rant that should wake up dems not his divisive, evil rhetoric the last 10 years but this rant is the final straw.
