He is absolutely flailing. His handling of this issue is so theatrical, so heavy-handed, and so puerile, that he’s keeping the story alive, and even his staunchest allies feel like that PR guy for Saddam Hussein, the one who was telling the press the war was going great as missiles were raining down directly behind him.

Because he raped girls with Epstein, right? That’s the thrust of the piece?

(reads article) Oh. It’s about strategy and not child raping.

    > The worst part is the hypocrisy

National guard movements, blown up cigarette boats, and the like, have apparently NOT successfully distracted the public from this, despite the best efforts of the White House.

Imho, these things were purposeful distractions from the non–release of the Epstein files.

    edit, the non release

  4. Wow. The internet is filling up with Epstein stories again right after the government is opening back up.

We’re all witnessing Trump’s failing economy and increasingly diminished capacity where he acts like he’s in control when he most certainly isn’t.

It’s a damn shame GOP is finally admitting Trump is deeply involved with Epstein in sexually abusing Young Girls just so they can justify joining the growing movement to get rid of that guy.

It is very clear that Trump and Epstein did rape those innocent kids.

Very unfortunate that Trump will never pay for all of his crimes including raping those innocent kids.

Shame on ALL of you Pedophile or Trump voters!

  6. The craziest part is…in about 3 days this will be out of the spotlight and (and I cannot stress this enough) NOTHING will happen

  7. Question! Why weren’t these files released to the public BEFORE the election? You’d think it would be information the voters needed to know. Whether or not a presidential candidate was a confirmed child rapist.

^ So many horrors some of us have known for years.

^ “Another Trump guest was Jeffrey Epstein, the billionaire accused of raping numerous underage girls. “That was one of his best buddies,” Houraney told the Times. “He threw a party one night just because of Epstein.

He said, ‘The other guys aren’t coming, but I don’t care because Jeff’s coming.’” ”

    . . .

Trump deny or can’t hide anymore. Keep the pressure up.

  9. It’s only a fiasco if anyone holds him accountable. MAGA is already getting their deflection talking points lined up. The usual Clinton, Trump was deep cover, democrats lie variety.

  10. Annnd … just like that, we’re no longer upset that Democrats opened up the government without any protections for our exploding healthcare costs.

But yay for us to confirm that the giant orange kid diddler is in fact a giant orange kid diddler.

  11. To be fair, who would have guessed being best friends with the world’s most notorious child sex traffickers would be a political liability?

  12. Yet again, I would like to remind everyone that this was NOT a drag queen.

But maybe Anita Recount is… I mean, look at the amount of makeup she wears!

Reminder: it was his own team that said they would release the files as red-meat to his MAGITES and then attempted a bait / switch.

  14. As did the cost of living crisis.

He lied about releasing the files, he lied about fixing inflation.

How so many people can’t see him for what he is just astounds me. I have always seen right through him. I guess there’s a reason some people are so susceptible to grifters.

  15. flightlesshacksaw on

Maybe it was always less about any evidence against him and more about how Epstein absolutely clowns on him throughout.

  16. RiverAppropriate2802 on

Can someone please answer this for me – if Trump is in these files and there is evidence of any wrongdoing, why hasn’t he been arrested? Is there some legal reason? Or just loyalty to him?? And why is there even a single person opposed to releasing them?

  17. Funnily enough, the entire thing would be a dead issue, left only for the occasional Lisa Simpson-on-a-stage meme being posted, but Trump decided he wanted to campaign on releasing the files, bringing the topic once again back into the public spotlight, only this time lighting a fire that voters on both sides could agree on.

Then came the charades and lies. The meetings in Feb where “Phase 1” binders were given out. Then the administration saying they are “on a desk”, then saying they are fake, then saying that Obama somehow made them, then saying they are real and will be released, then saying they are fake again, then they exist, then they don’t exist, then releasing a known child-rapist and co-conspirator out of the prison she was in and granting her work leave privileges after striking a super-secret totally-not-legal backroom deal, then that Democrats time traveled back to 2002 to add his name to them so that when he won his second non-concurrent White House bid that they could use it against him, then Mike Johnson claiming he knew about it since he was a super-secret FBI informant, then more denying it ever happened, calling it a hoax, then his press secretary saying the released files are true, etc. etc.

It’s all nonsense. But yeah, the entire thing would be a non-issue had Trump decided to not talk about it. He manufactured the outrage that he knew would lead to this, but he did it anyway because his narcissism and need to be talked about overpowered any sense of self-preservation.
