  1. Gotta figure out how to frame pedophiles as okay, if not slightly frowned upon, without sounding like a pedo. Tough.

  2. Why is he pressuring everyone? He claims he is innocent, then let the files prove his innocence

Trump administration is desperate to hide the truth about his connections to Epstein. What exactly are they hiding? We deserve to know the truth, we need transparency

  4. So you mean they lied and now that the truth is coming out they are backing off… I am astounded.

The manosphere ain’t being run by real men. Real men don’t take orders from child rapists, they prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.

And conservatives are still somehow spinning the fact that the guy who said he would release them day one is actively and aggressively fighting their release. What reason would he have to do that? Hmmm…

  7. That’s just objectively funny. They’re all talk. It’s just like when trump ran away from the UN cuz he heard the leaders were making fun of him. The strong man president who flees at criticism. The Manosphere that balks under pressure

  8. Keep this shit in mind next time youre feeling the urge to let one of these wastes of skin tell you how to be “manly” lol

Farmer here: 90% of my republican neighbors have taken down their trump flags. Not an exaggeration.

This whole “manosphere” movement was conceived of around a crisis of *insecurity,* not a “crisis of *masculinity.*”

And it’s no coincidence that the movement has gained momentum under Trump.

The manosphere ideology and cause are centered around politics and religion with obvious deep ties to MAGA. So it’s no wonder that its members and proponents are dedicated to Trump and preserving the notion that they are entitled to be hypocrites. They are “superior” after all, which means that they have the privilege to hold everyone else to a much higher standard.

That said, I think we saw groups of young men in particular briefly shift towards the right due in no small part to the pervasiveness of this “manosphere” movement and how its rampant online presence is engaging these young men and attracting them to its cause and its culture.

These men are impressionable and growing up attached to their devices; chronically online and having their entire identities and ideologies shaped by these right-wing male “influencers” who are pushing all kinds of antiquated, misogynistic messaging and far right doctrine that panders heavily to grievances that are misplaced and/or even flat out unfounded.

Male chauvinism, hyper-masculinity, heteronormative and homophobic attitudes, outdated tropes/sexist views towards women and the repudiation of more progressive gender roles all appear to be back in fashion, at least for a time.

This is a generation of young (often white) men growing up surrounded by what they perceive as like-minded male caricatures who are self styled victims acting in a sort of role model capacity within these online echochambers where followers are becoming radicalized by extreme ideas because it’s all they know, it’s all they’re exposed to.

These online networks become their most frequented communities, and as a consequence, also end up being the sole or primary means of socializing for them.

Like, what happened to young, nerdy (white) men doing things like playing dungeons and dragons to socialize together?

Ironically, if these influencers are looking for someone or something to blame, they can start with themselves because many of them are just whiny ass men who became dependent on a patriarchal and heteronormative society that’s been dictating our cultural, economic and institutional norms for centuries.

A system not just designed by and for these men, and with a distinct order/hierarchy to maintain, but also adequate for preserving a white, Christian hegemony in this country.

As time went on, social awareness of the inequalities and disparities that were created and prolonged by this system led to shifts in public thinking and movements that arose out of a desire for equality and civil rights for marginalized, oppressed groups.

All progress on this matter has been—at some time or another—challenged by those who benefit most from the status quo.

In today’s case, we see men (particularly of the conservative variety) pushing back against what they perceive as efforts that are “unfair” and oppressive towards *them.*

Such as women’s independence and equal rights movements; equitable practices and initiatives; laws against harassment and discrimination towards marginalized groups; support for equal pay; awareness of racial injustices and sexual abuse in the workplace; progress towards marriage equality; acceptance of more trivialized groups of people; shifting gender norms and the list goes on…

But in reality, because these men have relied so heavily on living by the favorable rules of an unjust, misogynistic and patriarchal institution for decades, they frequently confuse things like equality, diversity, and the righting of wrongs with their own victimization.

All this is to say that by calling for some return to a time of ultra-masculinity, male supremacy and a society dominated by men of a certain creed, culture and/or color, these types of men are not only clamoring for something unfeasible and undesirable in this contemporary world, but it’s also pretty damn counter-intuitive because it’s that very kind of system that’s been the cause of their current vulnerabilities, and quite frankly, their feelings of inadequacy.

So yes, it’s no surprise that these men see a leader and role model in Donald Trump. He’s the most insecure out of all of them. He’s the most victimized man on the planet.

Trump presents weakness as strength, his behavior and rhetoric has made him a symbol of male victimhood. He’s as fragile, resentful and vindictive as they come and his male followers perceive this as him being relentlessly persecuted and oppressed by whatever enemies are also oppressing them.

But he’s also a cheater, a womanizer, a misogynist, rapist, and abuser masquerading as a “real man.” In this his idolizers see strength and a champion of the traditional “values” and archetype of an ideal male. Meaning of course that in the eyes of his followers, he can do no wrong.

Megyn Kelley claiming Epstein wasn’t a pedophile because he liked “barely legal” 15 year olds instead of small children is catching on with maga. I keep reminding them that “barely legal” is 18,19 year olds. They’re barely over legal age of consent. 15 year olds are below the legal age of consent so they are not in any way “barely legal”. So much for the party who claim they want to save the children.
