Today Smerconish has callers pontificating that Trump was resisting file release because he didn’t want collateral damage to other prominent people who crossed paths with Epstein but had no culpability. Others said Trump was purposely resisting so that, when the files were eventually released, dems would “bury themselves again” and it would be an all the more powerful exoneration of Trump.
As has been posted in other threads, Megyn Kelly is already trying to mitigate by arbitrary hairsplitting in victim age and suggesting how “voluptuous” teenagers can appear.

If they already have enough votes to force the release, then there will definitely be more people signing on board to release the files as they don’t want to be on the wrong side of the vote and it used against them during campaign season. Stonewalling the release only works when you have the votes to block it.

if Mike can’t be certain he has enough votes for the petition to fail, he wont hold the vote. He’ll hold his nose up, pretty much say “im the speaker and while they may want this vote, this isn’t in the best interest of the american people”, then just dismiss any call for it to come to a vote.

I felt like the plan was to cash in before the midterms. The got the OBBB through, the ACA is set to expire, they have a favorable Supreme court, and a million different rich guys got thier corrupt scheme pushed through or got a pardon. Its just about time to jump ship and pretend they didnt know.
