I applaud Michelle for not running. I’m sick of people running whose main qualification is they’re related to another famous politician.

  2. She knows America as a whole sadly not pro black woman. You are allowed one non white man attribute

  3. “Michelle Obama should run for president”
    – the kind of people who think Schumer is a good leader

  4. The Obamas served the country for years and retired to deal with a deluge of racist crap from half the country because an orange and a fox told them to.

    Let them retire

I, for one, do not want want the graceful Mrs. Obama to run for president, let alone public office. She and Barack served us wonderfully for 8 yrs. She deserves peace and tranquility.

  6. The fact that she’s not running, makes me want to vote for her.

Glad she isn’t running though. It’s an even dirtier business at the moment so I wouldn’t want to see her tarnished in the mess that’s coming.

The bar has been so lowered, it really doesn’t matter that Michelle has no political experience; we elected a reality show host. At least Michelle has good judgment, and she’s not a pedophile.

  8. I haven’t known anyone claiming MO wants to be president. Now… people *wishing* she’d run? Yes. Tons of those. Myself included!

It’s true that Michelle Obama regularly ranks extremely high in favorability surveys of the American public. That is, however, the only reason anyone ever floats her as a candidate, and it’s a bad reason.

But more to the point, you don’t have to read too much about the Obamas to learn that Michelle loathes politics, loathes even being in proximity to politics, and would genuinely rather walk into the ocean before she herself ran for office.

Michelle is a great woman. The “not Maga” crowd needs to stay focused on exactly what they oppose though.

  11. You may have a chance Michelle 😭😭😭 people are becoming disillusioned. Slowly but surely haha but in all seriousness, she’s right.

  12. It’s sad that this is the unfortunate truth. It is quite evident that she is correct because of what has happened in the last year with women’s rights.

  13. When she says we’re not ready for a woman President, she’s dead wrong. Hillary WON the popular vote. Hillary who was, unfairly or not, one of the most vilified people ever to run and who had the highest negatives of anyone that’s ever run.

And Kamala only lost by 1.5%. Kamala who was foisted on us and who was, due to loyalty, unable to distance herself from what people perceived to be an ineffectual administration.

Michele doesn’t have either of those problems.

  14. She needs to tell Kamala to sit the hell down as well. America just isn’t ready for a woman president. I wish it was but a racist, low IQ, cruel, spoiled rotten pedophile has a 100% win rate against women, thinking it won’t happen again is pure foolishness. We need to rip the country back from the edge of fascism and spend a couple terms fixing everything that’s so broken that allowed one man to dismantle so many things before we can focus on a more progressive country.

It’s also going to take a few terms to primary all the corporate own Dems that are just republicans with a coat of blue paint. We can start with that traitorous corporate shill **Kathy Hochul** who is single handily trying to dismantle everything Mamdani is attempting just so socialism looks like it doesn’t work. She’s up for re-election next year. Force her out New York. We HAVE to send a message that if you serve the rich you’re useless to the people.

Every time a brown or black person is prominent, there are a barrage of racist attacks towards them.

Doesn’t matter if they’re Democrats, Republicans, or Independents.

She’s black AND a woman, which is clearly too much for the people who want to drag us back to “the good ole days” when everyone “knew their place.”

I don’t blame her one bit for not wanting to deal with it.

  16. I’m not surprised that this is her perspective. She spent 8 years experiencing the intense racism directed at her family and has watched this country choose the dumbest SOB over a perfectly capable female candidate, twice. She’s well aware of how it’ll go if she tries to run.

  17. She would be a wonderful president.

I would most enthusiastically vote for her, and I am sure those that upvote would as well.

She is also 100% correct about how the USA is not ready for a female president.

    This country needs an enema.

  18. I think she’d make a great president (she’s intelligent, kind, and informed which I think is plenty), but an awful nomination.

  19. She’s spot on.

She’d do a huge amount better than Trump or any Republican but I don’t want dynasties or cults of personality and running on name recognition falls into both categories.

  20. She’s right. People don’t want to admit how sexist we are as a voting populace. Look at Bernie Sanders’ polling against Hilary compared to his against Biden. I kindof doubt Kamala wins a primary in 2024 if it happened. I honestly think someone like Nikki Haley has a better chance at being the first woman president than Kamala does if she runs again.

  21. As much as women running for office would be amazing, in this climate, most voters would gravitate towards masculine figures especially a figure for democrats that’s as aggressive and vocal as Trump yet pushes progressive policy’s without bullshit. It makes sense unfortunately.

  22. It’s a goomba fallacy, but the conclusion is correct enough. Lotta folks are ready and the ones who say so aren’t lying, but America as a whole is not ready

  23. SOME Americans want her to be president. That doesn’t mean there’s enough American who want her to be president.

  24. Dont bother with us. We don’t deserve you 👑👸. That woman deserves to preserve her mental health at this point.

  25. Designer-Contract852 on

She’s said repeatedly for over a decade she doesn’t want to run for president.  Maybe believe her and stop asking if she will?

  26. SmartSolution484 on

I find this to be a bit disingenuous when the two candidates to be the first women presidents were some of the least popular politicians in any recent election cycle. Hilary stole the dem nomination from Bernie, and Kamala never polled above 7% during her primary attempt and then got to skip the whole primary the second time.

Next time, try for basic human connection and go from there.
