I can accept her apology. This is how healing starts, but she’s gonna need to walk back some *other* stuff. The 2020 election would be a great start.

Highly skeptical, but it would be hilarious if the end to this is MTG having a full redemption arc, abandon MAGA, convince her followers to come along, repudiate hate, and being the first domino that ends this nightmare. Then Harambe shows up back in his pen with no explanation whatsoever.

Sure, she’s “sorry” now that she’s on the receiving end of what she’s been dishing out, but when someone has spent a lifetime being like she is, I wouldn’t count on this being a permanent change. The moment she’s confident that she’s not at risk anymore and doesn’t need the help and protection of people she doesn’t like, she might just return to being herself.

  4. How many times has she called someone else a traitor unleashing the same threats of violence?

She can start by meeting with each one individually to apologize, holding a gaggle after for the press to ask both individuals queations.

  5. I welcome changes of heart. I hope it’s genuine and we’ll see more MAGA reps leaving Trump behind.

  6. Ugh, she’s one of them and always will be, don’t buy it people! Google her harassing David Hogg & Marcus Flowers, that’s just a couple of many she’s harassed and threatened.

  7. Bull-fuckety-shit. This lady chased victims of school shootings down the street and called them crisis actors. She called for the imprisonment of Anthony Fauci. She’s turned a new leaf? Fuck her. I won’t fucking let her.

  8. You know what? I’m fine with this. Sure, I don’t trust her, and at the end of the day whether she’s beefing with Trump or not she still hates me and probably wishes I were dead, but I’ll take it.

Having approx 25% of the population stuck in this cult is untenable, if she wants to use her high profile status to present an offramp for the MAGAs who are genuinely troubled with the Epstein horrors (i.e. MAGA members who still possess a shred of humanity), it’s a ultimately a good thing.

Also, she actually apologized, which is a lot more than I can say for a lot of other high profile former Trump supporters who would prefer we all just forget what they’ve said and supported in the past.

In times like this, the enemy of my enemy…

She irredeemably repulsive. This is 100% performative for her own gain. She has no soul and nothing she can do can redeem this. If anything she just wants to go further.

  10. I’m gonna have to see an awful lot of changed actions before I accept her apology. And even then I might not.

  11. Years of divisive comments can’t be undone with a single apology on CNN. Greene needs to show genuine change, not just words

  12. I don’t believe you.gif.

I’m sorry, but you can downvote me all you like but I just can’t trust a person like that… All she is saying is words right now she hasn’t taken any notable action to make anyone here on this planet that she has changed, Right now all she is doing is trying to stay in Congress, So right now to me she is playing tricks.

  13. If you’re so humbly sorry, Marge, and not just trying to jump off the MAGA ship before it sinks, you should simply resign your seat.

Anyone on the left should choose to forgive. I definitely can and will forgive. Whatever it takes to get us out of this mess.

I do think she’s legitimately apologetic.

  15. Yeah. No thanks. Fuck her, fuck everything she stands for and fuck everyone who voted for her.

  16. I’m all for redemption arc but based off the history of the right wing, I’m going to wait and see some actions rather than take her word for it.

  17. She wants to run for the Senate from Georgia, so she’s trying to appear normal. Do not fall for it at all. The enemy of my enemy is not my friend, but can be useful right up until she isn’t.

  18. RandomlyPlacedFinger on

She is utterly and completely untrustworthy. I would believe Jeffrey Dahmer telling me that meat is chicken before I’d believe MTG telling me the fire is hot.

  19. Who is falling for this? No, apology not accepted. If you would like to make up for your evil then do an amount of good *and more* to make up for it. But you won’t, because this is a political ploy.

Fun fact – You can give people room to change while also being skeptical of them doing so.

  21. I wonder how many Trumpers will “take the out” with her. Obviously this lady is fuckin nuts BUT I will hand it to her for sticking to her guns on Epstein. There’s got to be some cult members at this point who are internally starting to think maybe Trump isn’t God after all. I feel like this is a really good moment. The pendulum always swings hard and we’re ten years into this. My neighbor took down his trump signs one random day a few weeks ago. He at least now has the ability to acknowledge advertising how much you love Trump probably isn’t a great idea.

  22. I believe in changing minds. Until proven wrong, people who are willing to abandon a violent rhetoric are welcome.

  23. If she’s willing to oppose fascism (and pedos) that’s all what matters to me right now. Can knit pick later about any details of her history. We should always allow space for people to change even if we’re skeptical.
