  1. I don’t believe a word that comes out of any Republican’s mouth, but on this, I am very hopeful. Trump is going down and his goons will help make it happen

  2. Let’s not forget Trump has to sign it after it clears Congress or need enough to override his veto.

  3. Puh-lease. Trump cleared this by order a new doj investigation. Files now fall under “ongoing investigation” status. Vote is go show. Nothings being released.

  4. You don’t get to wash yourselves of this controversy by voting to release the files after supporting and backing a pedophile for this long.

If anyone doesn’t vote yes to release the files you are basically saying “we know Trump is in the files and we are choosing to protect him.”

Yeah, no. Don’t relax. Be sure to keep the Democratic caucus focused and together, and ride hard on the ones who might be thinking of voting ‘no’ because they’re in a red-ish district.

As the Admiral was thinking: “This might be a trap!”

  7. I’ll believe it when it happens. It’s not enough for just “some” of Congress to vote the right way. We need a veto-proof majority. That bar is much higher.

Why would the Republicans suddenly grow a collective spine after everything their leader has done? Is this somehiw the last straw?Like I said, I’ll believe it when it happens.

  8. That is because they have been assured it will go nowhere when it reaches the senate because the Senate Republicans think they can keep enough seats to stay in control in 2026. So now the Republicans in the house can say they voted for the release to try and keep their majority

  9. “Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last?”

Those were the words that finally ended public support of Joseph McCarthy during the Red Scare. At the time, it seemed insurmountable… but the right person saying the right thing at the right time brought it to a sudden and unexpected halt.

We live in a time where there is no decency, but maybe enough Republicans will see the rising waters and leap off the sinking ship like the rats they are.

I think it passes the House easily but I doubt Leader Thune has a vote in the Senate. President Trump would be fuming mad if his colleagues sent it to his desk to veto in embarrassment.

  11. Good. It’s about time Republicans stop selling their soul to Trump, and start standing up for what is right.

  12. At this point it really doesn’t even matter. The DOJ now has the obvious excuse that the investigation is ongoing (now that it’s been reopened to investigate Clinton and others), so they literally won’t release them. We need to stop pretending these files will be released during Trump’s presidency.

    It’s. not. happening.

  13. They have avoided releasing them for a long time. Epstein has been dead over six years.

I won’t believe it until it happens.

  14. Because they’ll stonewall it in the senate, and if that’s not enough it still has to be signed by Trump

Johnson said Trump “has nothing to hide from this.”

That means all the stall tactics were effective and they had sufficient time to tamper with the evidence.

  16. We’ll see. Maybe a dozen, tops. Not 100+ like he claims. It’ll just be a disappointment.

If there’s a shocking turn of events, he may have the Congress start the War to really create some distraction 😵‍💫

  17. I hope this signals that behind the scenes they have enough votes in the Senate to override a veto. Because it’s very predictable that if there is a break from party lines to pass this in the House, and it fails in the Senate, the deranged psychopath is gonna go on a revenge spree unlike anything US politics has ever seen. DoJ nonsense, dirty primary challenges, the works.

  18. I kind of feel like this’ll have the momentum of once it become inevitable, no one will want the no vote on record. So it’ll end up passing almost if not fully unanimous.

Because when it ends up being as bad as it seems, that vote will be EASY to campaign against. Like even in firmly republican areas, there will be enough concern to probably just primary them to be safe.
