He realized he couldn’t convince the Republicans, so he’s siding with them to make it look like he’s still in charge.

How do we know whether or not the DOJ tampered with the files to make it look bad for the Democratic Party? I see tons of redditors saying a majority of Republicans are gonna vote yes because of optics and all that, but I have a feeling they’ve been told by the administration that the files are good to go and they’ll all be safe.

He doesn’t want that added humiliation of everyone voting to release them when he said not to. Worried about republicans realizing they do in fact have the ability to say fuck off to trump.

He used the words, “whatever they’re legally entitled to,” which means they’re going to use the DOJ’s investigation into Clinton to block the release of the damning stuff. Can’t think of any other reason he would use wording that specific.
They opened an investigation regarding the contents of these files conveniently timed before the vote so they can claim certain aspects need to be redacted or kept hidden from the public to protect the integrity of the investigation
It’s going to pass so he’s acting like he “ordered” to release them and take credit.
For the objectionable stuff against him in those files, he has already pivoted to claiming that the files were “fiddled” with after the 2020 election.

The reality is he and his hench people have had control of the files and could have done whatever they wanted with them. I just hope that someone who has a copy squirreled away somewhere will do the full release. This man needs to be impeached removed and jailed immediately. This country will not survive him for another 3+ years.

Senate won’t vote to release it, or since the DOJ is investigating it they can’t release it therefore him saying this is clear as day theatrics.
They were gonna do it en masse anyway, this is just Trump protecting his image as the leader of the party. You wouldn’t be bringing Boebert into the situation room to try & change her vote if you wanted this; the dam broke and now he’ll pretend it was a part of the plan.

That means we’re getting a highly edited version, there’s no way he starts to be calm unless the files have been sanitized. The entire administration is crooked.
The surprise will be they can’t release the files because DJT had the DOJ open an investigation into the Democrats which in turn will keep the files from being released because there’s an active investigation. Surprise!
Because he knows that DOJ is gonna say they can’t release anything because there’s ongoing investigations, which he just called for two days ago….
This is due to one of the following: 1) it’s inevitable and he knows it. By saying this it makes it appear he’s in control. 2) DOJ opening a new investigation means they can’t release anything related to an open investigation. 3) DOJ have already scrubbed anything more incriminating.
