They had leaders who thought strategically 10 to 15 years ago and invested patiently in their country’s battery and EV industries as well as developing the necessary mineral supply chains for them. The US set off to do the same thing under Biden’s inflation reduction act until the stupid, child molesting fascists destroyed that effort. It requires patience, strategic thinking and thoughtful leadership, something the US may not see for a while.
