I am going to wait and see how this all plays out. She absolutely knows how dangerous they are

Still don’t believe her motives are well intentioned but it’s hard to say she didn’t answer the criticism the way you would want or expect a politician to:

    >On Sunday, Greene appeared on CNN’s “State of the Union,” and host Dana Bash couldn’t help but call the lawmaker out.

    >“Obviously, any threats to your safety are completely unacceptable. But we’ve seen these kinds of attacks or criticism from the president at other people; it’s not new,” Bash began. “And with respect, I haven’t heard you speak out about it until it was directed at you.”

    >“I think that’s fair criticism,” Greene responded. “And I would like to say, humbly, I’m sorry for taking part in the toxic politics. It’s very bad for our country, and it’s been something I’ve thought about a lot, especially since Charlie Kirk was assassinated.”

    >She continued, “I’m only responsible for myself and my own words and actions. And, I am committed, I’ve been working on this a lot lately — to put down the knives in politics. I really just want to see people be kind to one another, and we need to figure out a new path forward that is focused on the American people.”

  3. I mean, isn’t that how Republicans operate? Don’t care about thing until they’re personally affected.

Dude… who cares about her motivations. When you see a bear riding a unicycle, you don’t criticize their technique. You say “….wow.”

  5. At first, I was feeling the transformation. People deserve to be able to change and admit they were wrong.

That said, there has not been enough time elapsed in which MTGs actions/consequence ratio has balanced.

I do not think she should be murdered. I think death threats and fear are the worst parts of our politics and world. Truly a cancer to be eliminated. However, she perpetuated this very mechanism and the inertia is coming right for her. That sucks. I hope she is not harmed but she has herself to blame right now.

  6. Always thought the old adage ‘the enemy of my enemy is a friend’ was too simple. There is nothing wrong with working with an enemy against another, but they are still the enemy in the end.

I think MTG is a lot smarter than I’d previously thought. She might have even grown since she first came on the political stage and seen some of her previous actions as counterproductive, at least.

She is making a play for the future of the right. Trump has a peculiar charisma that enabled him to form a broader coalition than any republican could in the recent past. The recent election offered yet another example that a sizable part of that coalition is here just for Trump.

Trump is an old man in questionable health and barred from running for president again. When he has retired to the great Mar-A-Lago with beachfront views of the lake of fire, the party will have to reckon with where to go next.

Right now, a lot of the big wigs are aiming to become the next Trump but none of them have that peculiar charisma. None of them can be Trump and will Trump’s name even be worth anything after three more years of this shit?

MTG is aiming for a spot on the other side of the coming republican civil war. She’s bucking Trump because she thinks the future party will try to ignore him if not bury him and any allegiance to him.

Now, in the future when his name is reviled even on the right, she can say she opposed him… while playing down all the years when she guzzled his cock like the rest of the sycophants.

Well now that she doesn’t get to be a senator what even is the point in all the lies?

This is the lady who got her start attacking school shooting victims… I won’t buy her redemption arc,  sorry.

  8. Opposite-Bit6660 on

Never forget that MTG helped plan J6 and said it would have been successful had she led it and they had been armed.   Double agent for Trumpto get survivors’ info, imo.

  9. “I’m sorry for taking part in the toxic politics…”. MTG is the poster child for toxic politics. It is who she is. She has been happy for years, swimming in the cesspool she created. Cheetoface pushed her out of the inner circle and now she cries.

  10. The *sole* value of conservatism is respect for and obedience to [one’s perception of] traditionally established hierarchy, and hierarchy dictates that those on top (in-groups) are rightfully idolized and receive privileges, credibility, and resources, while those on the bottom (out-groups) are demonized/dehumanized and/or bound by restrictions, scrutiny, and lack of resources.

To them, the second-greatest injustice imaginable is for those [they perceive to be] on the bottom [of social hierarchy] to have access to the rights, credibility, and resources reserved for those on top. The first greatest injustice is for those on top to be bound by the restrictions, scrutiny, and lack of resources reserved for those on the bottom.

While “know your place” is their mantra, each and every single one of them truly believe that they are among the in-group, and so long as they continue to participate in the demonization/dehumanization of an out-group will their own place be secure. They never realize that security is a privilege far above their station until it’s too late.

  11. She also didn’t give a shit about healthcare until her kids were affected by the high costs themselves.
She will do or say anything for politics. She’s the absolute worst type of politician and has zero credibility in anything she says.

  12. RiffRaffCatillacCat on

I mean, this is literally every Right Winger though.

They enjoy and take pleasure when injustice is happening to someone else, but the second it’s happening to them they immediately shriek in protest and demand everyone feel their pain.

The Right’s inability to feel basic empathy for others is a defect in the brain that they all seem to share in common.

  13. Until she apologizes to the families of school shooting victims for claiming they were crisis actors, which subsequently lead to them receiving death threats, I won’t forgive her.

I think we can safely exclude Margie from human standards of behavior and stop expect decency or consistency.

Just enjoy the ride while it lasts and see what comes of it.

  15. I think she’s banking that Trump is eventually going to be disgraced, one way or the other. And she will look to swoop in as a return to sensible politics as republicans pretend to never have supported Trump.

  16. Odd to see a republican have any kind of remorse. Let’s have more of that, they need to come back to planet earth

  17. Sarcasm_As_A_Service on

She’s going to run for president. Her personality is and has always been whatever she thinks will be most beneficial. She wants broader appeal and feels this is how she will get it.

  18. once_again_asking on

Good this is exactly the kind of thing that should be called out. There should be way more focus on what a shitty, horrible, and abusive person Trump is just in day to day life, casually. The guy is one of the worst people I’ve ever seen or heard.

  19. Sounds accurate. And she laments the lack of civility in politics, suddenly? This vicious, lying bitch wants everyone ELSE to be more civil?

  20. she was cool with the death penalty for Democrats, fuck MTG, fuck Trump, release the damn files already

  21. internetdeadaf on

    Who fucking cares

MTG, like all politicians, is a piece of shit. I don’t have to like her or support her or anything for both of us to happen to agree upon an issue.

Her wanting the Epstein files released and calling out Trump for being a bully should have no impact on you wanting the same

  22. throwtheclownaway20 on

I don’t believe this sudden face turn for a fucking second. I don’t care if she literally does nothing but support leftist causes until the day she dies, I’ll never trust her or any other MAGA, even if they turn on the GOP to reverse all this and take whatever punishment they get from the (hopefully) ensuing Nuremberg-style trials. They are truly unforgivable.

  23. She is right to call out her party for gaslighting on insurance rates, inflation and the Epstein files.

She is also wrong for being a POS MAGA head for 6+ years.
