  1. I think they’re going to redirect the whole thing in to an investigation of other people.

Why else would they go from fighting so hard to prevent the release this whole year to being like “yeah ok release them” in the span of a day?

  3. I wager it will be some “the files are part of an active investigation, we can’t release them without jeopardizing……” I certainly am not expecting anything to be made public this week. I would be thrilled to be wrong though.

  4. Yes, that’s why Trump publicly told Bodi to target Dems. They can claim the Dems are dirty while covering up their own BS.

  5. She’s dead on. Make no mistake about this, we aren’t going to get the real files. They’ll be redacted/altered into oblivion, or buried in DOJ nonsense.

  6. No one believes what tRump is trying to sell. If the House releases the files either tRump will try to veto it or the files are so redacted that they are worthless………………. Or he has had his name removed and others that paid him to have their names removed as well………..

  7. Trump said he has nothing to hide so the files should have no redactions. Considering it’s the government, redactions are typical. If anything is redacted, they should push back on Trump. Say he’s too much of a coward to release unredacted files. Make more hay out of the whole thing.

Smoke and mirrors, smoke and mirrors. This is their playbook. Delay and deflect till that no longer works, then continue with another tactic. Just amazes me that the people on the fence stay on the fence when there is so much evidence that this is what they do.

  9. Imagine if they leave out a ton of information and say “see! I’m clean!” and then one of the 1000s of people all over the world release a copy of the same information, showing what was removed. A lot of what we saw were emails. You know there’s probably copies upon copies on servers.

I kind of hope that’s what a leaker is waiting for – for him to release heavily modified files, and then the leaker puts out the entirety of information. Now the entire administration has to deal with the shit show of being caught in a red handed lie + all their ties to the pedos. Aka, the fall of the house of cards

I dont believe that this is 100% all the info. They have buried some content for sure to make him look “clean”.

I keep saying “vote blue no matter who” types are the type that’d vote for trump if he were a democrat

thank the goddess for Jasmine Crockett

I think his urging of Republicans in the house to vote for release is him giving them the fact that they voted to release the files in the 2026 mid-terms. Some BS will keep them from being released anyway, or they will be released in a form that doesn’t implicate him or his friends.

  13. This is the real reason they wanted the government shutdown. They needed to buy time to doctor it and align the entire party on what they were going to do.

That vacation they were on was heavily drilling into them what to do when they re-opened.

We need another Daniel Ellsberg type person if we’re ever gonna learn what’s really in those files.

  15. There needs to be more public call-outs on why they even have to vote on this in congress. This is something Trump PROMISED to do on the campaign trail and its been nearly a year and congress is having to FORCE Trump to do it. The American people can’t fall for this BS and the media just slurps it up and reports Trump’s support like its no big deal.

“Are we still talking about this Epstein thing?” was a direct quote 4 months ago. That was the perfect time for HIM to release the files. Instead he’s been cowering behind Mike Johnson and doing everything in his power to cover this up. All the media has to do is give simple reminders that Trump can instruct the DOJ to release the files at any time and bring this to light. Its not even a direct atttack at Trump, its just stating a simple fact.

This is the perfect situation for them

The shutdown gave the administration a huge confidence boost and ample time to redact many names. It also made it so there’s no chance of a leak because most government officials were probably at home not caring.

Trump’s chances at impeachment have skyrocketed, so it’s advantageous for them to show that they’ll cooperate

  17. He would never flip a position if it would be to his disadvantage. He knows that either the files are doctored or they won’t actually release them All, just the parts that would make his enemies look bad.

  18. WisconsinGardener on

The bill’s wording says release all files except those that would jeopardize an active investigation. Wow, by a weird coincidence, there’s a now active federal investigation as of a few days ago.

lol, it’s so blatant. Do not for a second believe we’re getting everything

  19. As a member of the Black community I’m so happy to see Jasmine Crockett in congress, it’s so refreshing. We really need people who are willing to just call people out on bullshit when they see it. Watching for years as Dems let Republicans get away with *anything* was maddening, and it’s nice to have a new generation of representatives who will stand up and say “these people are liars and scammers, we’re not about to sit here and act like they’re normal”.

  20. I dont understand how an investigation for 10 year old files could be an issue. The people in there know. Plenty of time for that.

    Just excuses.

  21. Even if they release the WHOLE list, it’s not going to matter.

I just don’t see the 1000s of rich and power politicians, royalty or celebrities ever going to prison.

  22. LeStrikeRevolution on

She’s right. Pedo in Chief ordered those files redacted and Patel even said so under testimony.

  23. They’re gonna rewrap them under the guise of a different, open ended investigation. It’s been pretty heavily telegraphed, but they don’t even have to do that yet. Nothing gets released unless it passes the senate. There’s no guarantee it’ll pass the senate, and the process can easily be held up procedurally there for a *long* time regardless. Even if it did somehow pass the senate, it’s unlikely that it would pass with a veto proof margin. That would kill it, or at least send it back to the senate for more procedural delay etc. If all of that fails, *then* they can fall back on sealing the documents as part of another investigation. The House is the only first of four hurdles. They’re smart enough to see that they’ve lost that, so might as well cut their losses. There’s no reason to spend the political capital. Given that he’s almost a year into his second term and we’re already halfway to midterms with all of those obstacles left, it’s unlikely that any release will come before midterms if it ever happens at all.

  24. People with brains aren’t buying it. Meanwhile, his followers who often claim that liberals lack critical thinking skills (another excellent projection), won’t have any questions which is all that really matters to them.

  25. According_Gift_7095 on

They delayed as much as they could – while holding all the files.

God knows they destroyed everything they could during the ‘Epstein Trump shutdown’

  26. Deceptiv_poops on

Why does it seem like the house democrats are just now realizing what we knew was gonna happen months ago?

  27. He only changed after ordering DOJ to investigate Democrats. Once Trump knew the files won’t be released “due to an ongoing investigation”, he could change his tune about Congress.

  28. At least a few politicians in DC have basic pattern recognition skills. It’d be great to be wrong, but this whole thing is getting buried.
