Swastikas are divisive? Wow, groundbreaking stuff.
Who would’ve thought a symbol used by actual Nazis might rub people the wrong way..

Trump pardoned the Jan 6 insurrectionist who wore a Camp Auschwitz shirt. Trump wants the U.S. to turn into Nazi Germany or Kim Jong-Un’s North Korea. If Trump could torture every democrat to death, he’d do it.

Wow, they were shamed into doing the right thing! Very refreshing in this era of GOP shamelessness.

Well, that was a fun 12 hours or so. The nazis were back in coast guard form.
I kind of wonder if this was all a trial balloon. Try it out with the coast guard, they’re just a silly branch of the military after all. If it seems to be acceptable expand it to big branches type deal. Guess it didn’t work out for them. We will never hear about it again.

Conduct previously handled as a potential hate incident, including those involving symbols widely identified with oppression or hatred, is processed as a report of harassment in cases with an identified aggrieved individual, or in accordance with Chapter 11 of this Instruction. The terminology “hate incident” is no longer present in policy. COMDTINST 5350.6A(7)(d).

I’d like to think that none of this would have prevented some swastika asshole from getting his ass beat anyway.

Crazy that we’re still having to debate this Nazi stuff. Think some of our forefathers might have had a better idea how to handle this…have a story for the schadenfreude in these trying times:
_____
My grandfather lived in eastern Poland in the 50s. By then, any captured German hideaway (“former” nazi) would face no legal punishment, but it was well-understood that if they were caught, the people would punish them, and as long as it was non-deadly and not too obvious the authorities would look the other way.
Where he lived at least, the attempts to find non-deadly but horrible punishments that don’t leave a mark got pretty…nasty.
In particular, there were several who got caught (over the course of years) who were punished by being taken to a **cow barn**, being forced to stick their nose up to the cow’s ass (practically touching it), and being tied up in that position for the day, often for 7-10 days with breaks during the nighttime.
My grandpa was a farmer and on about 4-5 occasions they asked to use his cows for the person, so he got a first-hand view. He said it was quite horrific to say the least, but he didn’t feel too bad for them.

Well THAT trial balloon got shot up real badly really quickly! 👍🏻

This administration in a nutshell… Testing and pushing the boundaries to see how far they can go with their vile agenda.
In a few months or perhaps even weeks, they will probably try something similar again and if the outrage will just a little bit less, then they’ve gain some ground and can push it further and further until enough people don’t care to react.
It’s scary to watch this happening from Europe, and I can’t even imagine how it must feel to be living in America and feel the effects of this every single day.
Stay strong and keep fighting this tyranny!

Utah passed a law allowing the Swastika and the Confederate flags to be displayed in school classrooms for “educational purposes” but BANNED Pride flags altogether.
“But banned pride flags”
I beat ya to it.
Ugh. This country is screwed.

The US coast gaurd used to be one of if not the best branches for all the good they do. How quickly the Trump administration and Coast Guard have soured that reputation in less than a year.
