  1. President Donald Trump has no idea what Zohran Mamdani meant when he told him to “turn the volume up.”

Trump, 79, was left confused by the common phrase, which was among the viral moments of the New York City mayoral-elect’s victory speech this month.

“I don’t know exactly what he means by turning the volume up,” Trump told Fox host Brian Kilmeade on Friday.

Most understood the phrase to mean that Mamdani, 34, was telling the president to turn up his TV and listen to what he and his movement had to say—possibly doubling as a dig at Trump’s age by suggesting he is hard of hearing.

  2. People easily forget that stupid people are simply too stupid to fully appreciate just how fucking stupid they really are. Forest Gump’s mom said as much.

  3. At first I thought his “groceries” comment last fall was idiotic. I mean “okay grandpa no-one ever said groceries to you before.”

But then I heard a speech in have in 2018 when he said, “you need ID if you go to the grocery store!” Which is stupid in itself, but he used the “old fashioned” word in 2018, and forgot it by 2024?

    That’s dementia.

I’m goung to point out that r / politics just removed a post where I made a joke about screaming in all caps because old people think they’ll be heard better…

Apparently because it contained too many ALL CAPS.

  5. The phrase “turn up the volume” is a nod to the song by the same name from artist KRS-ONE. The refrain is “turn the volume up, the devil’s time is up”.

  6. I think what he’s saying has double meaning there. Trumps shooting himself in the foot with his rhetoric so to me with the timing he said that implies we beat trump by getting him to react. And then trump reacted predictably and only got half of it.

  7. I kind of feel like “Turn up the volume” could be a way bigger messaging platform against the 70+ government we’ve created for ourselves.
