Mark Epstein, the brother of convicted sex offender and financier Jeffrey Epstein, has raised the alarm over potential tampering with the Epstein files, prompting the FBI to bolster security at the facility where they are stored.
*Newsweek* reached out to the FBI by email on Friday morning for comment.
The process to release the Epstein files has been long and fraught with complications: President Donald Trump, during the 2024 U.S. presidential campaign, suggested he would release the Epstein files upon returning to the White House, but after securing victory, he appeared to downplay the value of the files.
U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi at one point said she had the files on her desk, requiring a last review before release, only to then say there was no incriminating “list” of Epstein clients.
There’s a lot of copies out there of the Epstein files. It’s pretty impossible to ‘sanitize’ all copies in existence. Many people have seen them. If they try this route, someone will no doubt come out and point out what’s missing, further dragging this out and damaging Trump and his administration even more.

Gee. If only there were witnesses who can fill in the blanks.

The problem with the victims just publishing the names by themselves is that without the papers backing them, they expose themselves to crazy lawsuits.
But if the names are published by the release of the files, then the victims can openly confirm the information as the names would already be public, lowering the risk of being taken to court.

Not saying he’s wrong because it’s very believable I just wanna know why Epstein’s brother is supposed to be credible in making these claims.

> Bloomberg, citing two people familiar with FBI operations, reported Friday that the FBI responded to a spiraling situation that developed after a NewsNation phone interview with Mark Epstein, during which he claimed – **without proof** – that “they” [the Trump administration] are “scrubbing the files” to remove any mention of Republican figures.

Reporter: “This was obviously sanitized as you’re not mentioned anymore in the Epstein files.”
Trump: “Who are you? CNN? Horrible network, little piggy. How dare you ask such questions and the way you asked it. It could’ve been nicer. Do you know who I am? CNN is fake news. Next question.”
And that will be it.

Why is no one questioning why Mark Epstein, the brother of a prolific child sex trafficker, has access to such high levels of law enforcement? Mark Epstein’s wealth is equally as mysterious as his brothers.

Let’s say the redacted files are released.
Is any AI system capable of discerning the redacted names and places? That would be, I think, more like AI playing Mad Libs. And I’m down for that, lol
But I really hope some politician has enough cajones to leak the unredacted copies.

I actually hope this is true.
