The three comments I’ve seen most often- they are basically disrespecting a majority female/heavily minority profession (since PAs and chiropractors are still professional); they are going to hit rural healthcare even harder; some uncertainty on how this hits specialized nursing programs. And sadly it will be yet another policy the next President has to fix while MAGAs pretend everything was just fine.

I’m a traveling nurse and I don’t think most realize how many hospitals are falling apart at the seams due to staffing retention issues. Making it even more difficult for students to pursue nursing degrees does not seem wise.

So is everyone just going to ignore that Educator and Social Worker are no longer professional degrees? These are also vital services and people in those fields deserve way better (obviously), so this is a kick in the teeth. Granted, people going into these fields should never be saddled with crippling debt.

My aunt just finished up school to be a nurse. She doing her clinicals now. I’m upset for her. She’s a really sweet person and doesn’t deserve this. And no she didn’t vote for this.
