Project 2025 relentlessly seeks for women to be second class citizens in the public sphere.

Obviously anyone who has worked in a hospital or in patient care knows this is insane. However, you’d be surprised how many nurses voted for Trump (even after his handling of Covid). I know I was when I did.

  3. So all these MAGA are willing to have a nurse with a Prager U degree? Watch how this turns out in 10 years when nurses can be anyone.

  4. This is one of those things where I ask why the executive has the ability to make such a change on a whim without congressional approval.

  5. The three comments I’ve seen most often- they are basically disrespecting a majority female/heavily minority profession (since PAs and chiropractors are still professional); they are going to hit rural healthcare even harder; some uncertainty on how this hits specialized nursing programs. And sadly it will be yet another policy the next President has to fix while MAGAs pretend everything was just fine.

I am BEYOND FURIOUS with this! My daughter in law practically walked through fire to get her RN degree! It is NOT an easy course! This just makes me beyond mad. He’s an ass!

It’s because he thinks that nurses are just pretty women there for your entertainment, and that nurses can only be women.

  8. It’s not just nurses, they’re also reclassifying many other professions that are predominantly chosen by women, they are also jobs that are mandated reporters.

I’m a traveling nurse and I don’t think most realize how many hospitals are falling apart at the seams due to staffing retention issues. Making it even more difficult for students to pursue nursing degrees does not seem wise.

  10. To all the Nurses who voted for Slump….

    Boot Straps.

Oh yea here’s some crocodile tears for u too. 😂

  11. Anyone else noticed that if you aren’t a rich sociopath and/or Christian fundamentalist, this administration has only succeeded at making *everything* worse?

Yeah, meanwhile in the real world, I see 90% of my healthcare coming from nurses or physician assistants. I can’t remember the last time an actual MD spent more than 10 minutes with me. Absolutely crazy, the idiocy of this regime!

Let’s remember that They’re destroying the education department because they think the federal government has no place in making education decisions.

Keep to that. They decided that they didn’t get to decide what a professional degree is.

  14. So is everyone just going to ignore that Educator and Social Worker are no longer professional degrees? These are also vital services and people in those fields deserve way better (obviously), so this is a kick in the teeth. Granted, people going into these fields should never be saddled with crippling debt.

Stupid, sick, and over policed is the goal.

  15. I agree with all the comments about nurses…this is insane.

I just also want to point out the irony of the Department of Education also excluding educators from this list.

    Absolute circus!!!

  16. Knowing this was going to happen or that they’d find some way to ratfuck forgiveness, a BSN is as far as I’ll go.

For so many reasons it shouldn’t have shocked how quickly nurses went full MAGA, but it did. It’s pretty crazy listening to a traveling nurse talk to you about hating communism while just trying to get your mom through a stroke.

This is what happens when you appoint a fucking wrestling actor as the Head of education ridiculous

How is nursing not profession? A nurse is one of the highest of professions. Their job is to assist to “help save your life’.

But I was told it was the democrats who’ve abandoned the working class.

I don’t think a president Kamala Harris would have done this.

  21. He is projecting about his own position. His mind is living in a different reality. It’s part of his dementia.

  22. Andovars_Ghost on

Not just nurses but A LOT of professions than most people would consider ‘professional’. Physician Assistants, Teachers, Accountants, Therapists.

  23. My aunt just finished up school to be a nurse. She doing her clinicals now. I’m upset for her. She’s a really sweet person and doesn’t deserve this. And no she didn’t vote for this.

  24. Glad DOGE got rid of wasteful/useless processes.

Imagine sitting there line item with a ruler (for weeks) determining your opinion on “what’s a professional.”

Enjoy your unprofessional architect and your unprofessional accountant as well.

Houses collapsing and money vanishing. WIN

Nurses and teachers. We’re just a bunch of chicks winging it, not at all professional. It’s not like we have to get degrees and take licensing tests and maintain our certification or anything. /s
