Even if she had succeeded (which she wasn’t, she got nowhere near as much traction as she thought she would and way more pressure), she’d have cut a deal with the party leadership to get her way, then fallen back in line. There is no timeline in which MTG was going to become some sort of resistance leader.

On the surface it looks bold and strong and patriotic that she stood up to Julius Cheddar, but she also saw which way the wind was blowing and went with it, thinking it would galvanize support for her from across the spectrum, and she was right, it did.
Her recent anti-Trump position does not scrub clean the fact she perpetrated ridiculous conspiracy theories, made racist comments, was anti-Semitic, Islamophobic, and launched nasty personal attacks on others.
