  1. Snippet from this article: It has been a head-spinning 48 hours in Washington. Liberal TV host Rachel Maddow showed up at the funeral of conservative vice-president Dick Cheney. Donald Trump embraced Zohran Mamdani, a democratic socialist set to be the first Muslim mayor of New York, like a brother.

And then Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Trump acolyte-turned-nemesis who bested him over the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files, stunned the political establishment again. In what should have been her hour of triumph, the Maga star abruptly announced that she was quitting the House of Representatives.

  2. She wouldn’t have led shit. Even if she had succeeded (which she wasn’t, she got nowhere near as much traction as she thought she would and way more pressure), she’d have cut a deal with the party leadership to get her way, then fallen back in line. There is no timeline in which MTG was going to become some sort of resistance leader.

If she really cared, she would’ve stayed. Death threats are happening to many in Congress. There’s safety in numbers.

Her retirement is pure self-serving bs.

MTG was never anything other than a nasty, self-serving witch.

On the surface it looks bold and strong and patriotic that she stood up to Julius Cheddar, but she also saw which way the wind was blowing and went with it, thinking it would galvanize support for her from across the spectrum, and she was right, it did.

Her recent anti-Trump position does not scrub clean the fact she perpetrated ridiculous conspiracy theories, made racist comments, was anti-Semitic, Islamophobic, and launched nasty personal attacks on others.

She’ll be gone from the political landscape and America is better for it.

The Guardian has been publishing takes lately that are outright insane.

MTG might have had a hand full of crazy people who soured on Trump follow her. Sane people were not going to forgive her previous behavior, she wasn’t going to lead shit. In fact, no credible anti-Trump movement would want anything to do with her because who knows when’s she’s going to go off about Jewish Space Lasers ™ or start harassing school shooting survivors again.

She cheapens any movement she’s part of.

  6. MTG was a thorn in liberals sides for years, and never feared for her safety. She defies Trump for one week and has to quit Congress for fear of her life.

Tell me again how “left wing violence” is the problem.

  7. No. This bullshit is why everyone hates establishment Dems. The enemy of your enemy isn’t a friend. MTG still hates gay people. She still is the ‘Jewish space lasers cause wildfires’ person. There is no room for her hate here, and frankly there’s no room for establishment Dems who would accept her into the fold.

  8. There is so much dirt he has on her she afraid to be revealed,, acts so courageous about screaming at Biden but loses all her balls to an orange face liar ,,, no way ,,,, he’s got lots of dirt on her

She is most likely going to run for another office. Like for the Senate or even a presidential run.

  10. Laughably absurd take. She’s on the lunatic fringe and of the extreme right wing. She literally blamed Jewish space lasers for forest fires. She absolutely could not have “led the anti-Trump resistance.”

  11. A congress without MTG is better off regardless if its by resignation or by vote. She is terrible. Good riddance.

Why does everyone forget this is the person who claimed the Sandy Hook shooting was staged? She is a delusional lunatic who absolutely thinks she’s being Trump’s undercover mole in a pretend spy game. The only light she’s seen is the one in her mind from the wildfire causing space lasers.

Im worried we are losing rational people to lies they heard in the media just because it fits our narrative. Almost like another group.

  13. MTG has no credibility. She is the only politician in high office who is dumber and more ignorant than Trump is. She’s not fit to run a Burger King restaurant let alone be a member of Congress

  14. Um, it’s good she broke with Trump and all but I don’t want her “leading” anything. She belongs in the trash heap of history like the rest of them.

  15. Wrong_Confection1090 on

This is stupid. Jewish Space Laser wasn’t going to lead shit. The GOP didn’t respect her, they thought of her as a mad bitch who could speak to the portion of their electorate that likes to make death threats to judges and politician’s wives. I don’t even care if she’s on our side or not, the world is better off with her back under the rock they found her beneath.

  16. She folded like wet cardboard under 1% the vitriol and death threats that she incited upon democrats

  17. She has access to unredacted Epstein files and could leak them to the public. She could be a national hero if she actually wanted to be a national hero but she doesn’t want to deal with the consequences that good trouble can get you into.

Would love to see what they got her with, though. Must be some good blackmail floating around the HOP these days. We are so far past the Madison Cawthorn blackmail and black balling.

So did she. She doesn’t lose anything in this deal. She’s made her fortune, she doesn’t need politics anymore.
