    We have no reason to believe he’s being shown his actual numbers and he can’t even watch fox news anymore because even they’re being forced to acknowledge reality on some level but I’m sure everything his staff presents him is designed to not set him off.

    Narcissists invent an internal monologue where they always come out victorious as it makes them ‘feel’ good. Hence, when he hears of crappy polling numbers, he just says they’re the ‘best ever’. Believe me, the people around him have been hearing him say this over and over and over until he can believe it himself.

    It’s classic narcissistic self-protection. A real, actualized, integrated person would read those poll numbers and either 1) blow them off because he doesn’t care or 2) figure out some ways to modify his behavior to get the poll numbers up if he does care.

    (Source: I was married to a narcissist for a time. I would sometimes be kept up until 3 am with him droning on and on with the new comforting fantasy he was constructing over a setback. )

    What I don’t understand is why Trump doesn’t flip the script in the second half, fire satans baby Miller and hogswath, send out some free money, sign some sensible legislation and moon walk out of that bitch like a dawg. If he really just wants people to like him he should just stop being an asshole. He’s had to have stolen enough money by now and the courts will never touch him so why not?

    Keep in mind that he doesn’t read. Someone is feeding him alternative facts that he wants to hear. Find something, anything, that was typed on a website and you can cite your way into your own alternate reality
