  1. > To support her statement, the journalist, author and host shared a video of Ocasio-Cortez talking about her campaign raising enough money to donate 1,600 turkeys for families in the Bronx this Thanksgiving.

Truly astonishing stuff they’ve found here…

  2. Fox News is partisan propaganda that exaggerates and presents information in a way that riles up the right. They don’t know what powerful is, it’s like cereal for them.

I’ll believe it when another outlet corroborates that being the case.

  3. Isn’t she smart enough to know, like Michelle Obama is, that we simply aren’t ready for a woman as President?
Because the choice was treasonous/rapist/felon man vs accomplished black woman and we all know what America chose.

  4. So excited for her to surge in the primaries before the dem establishment closes ranks to run someone guaranteed to lose instead

  5. Interesting, everybody else thinks she’s going after Schumer’s seat. Why does the right need an opposing presidential candidate three years out? This is all just so strange.

  6. Whenever I want to know the inside scoop on AOC, or really any Democratic pol, my go-to source is a Faux Newz host, as regurgitated by newzweek AI.

    Two possible outcomes:

She runs for President in 2028 and becomes the Democratic party nominee, then gets destroyed in the general election because she’s WAY too young and progressive for most of the country…and the Republicans win.

    or

She runs for President in 2028 and DOESN’T get the Democratic nomination, then all the progressives stay home in protest on election day because she’s not the nominee…and the Republicans win.

I just want them to fix healthcare. Whatever we’re doing in the US is shameful. Whoever can get that done gets my vote.

Does anyone know if there are more people alive under 40 vs over 40? Do you think those people can relate to the typical 70 year old white males that get ran?

  10. I sure hope not. She’ll have my vote either way, but she’d do an unbelievable amount of good JUST by unseating Schumer. Like, even if she pulled a Fetterman and turned on all of us, it would *still* be worth it to get this man out of a ‘leadership’ role.

  11. I’d proudly vote for her. That being said.. I’m not sure if this piece of shit country would.

  12. It’s insane to me how the US still ‘isn’t ready’ for a female president. We got our first female PM in the UK in ’79 and despite that still voted for another in 2016. Pretty much all of Europe is fine with it but it’s somehow still a sticking point over the Atlantic.

edit: sorry we’ve had three female PMs but the last one was insane

  13. My whole thing is AOC is still young, and let’s say she wins the presidency, even the reelection.

Add 8 years from 2028 and she still won’t even be 50 years old yet.

Then she’s out of politics, yeah she can lend her voice as Obama does, but the impact she’ll have will greatly diminish.

I’d love to see her as president, but I’d love to see her go for senate now, then maybe do a run for president in like 2036.

  14. No one would be more happy than Republicans if AOC was the Democratic presidential candidate in 2028.

I’m deeply disappointed to see how many people honestly want dems to run another mediocre white man. Don’t succumb to hopelessness, we can do better.

  16. Yeah, it’s odd how the only politician that cares about the people is also supported by the same people she gives a shit about!

  17. I love her, but she’d lose horribly. I’m a Democrat but firmly believe the first woman president will be Republican, if we get one at all before the country falls apart.

The good thing about the democratic party is that it’s culturally diverse. The bad thing about the democratic party is that it’s culturally diverse. There’s a lot of men from different cultures that would vote for a Democratic man but would kill themselves before voting for a woman president, and the polling data from the last election showed this.

Aren’t there some quotes that suggest that Trump fears and begrudgingly respects her a little bit?

  19. Capable-Broccoli2179 on

Dems have a strong list of possibles for next prez. Republicans have a list of buffoons. AOC, Corey Booker, Gavin Newsom, Gretchen Whitmer, Even Kamala versus, JD? Little Marco? Trump Junior? One thing I am pretty sure of, if we have another presidential election, then Dems will win in a landslide…same goes for midterms.

  20. People talk about democratic socialism and it’s a little vague. Everyone in the U.S. knows the term and knows AOC, Bernie, and now Mamdani all lean into it.

I still think there is some additional explaining or framing for the general public that is needed.

I think aligning it with efficiency of the government that was the basis of doge would work well. I think you could sell democratic socialism as democracy with an extreme emphasis on taxes being used in ways that directly effect the people (that’s the socialism part)

The voters emphasis should be the largest emphasis on where the taxes go. So we will have a government that does have taxes but they go towards what we want.

Healthcare, schools, infrastructure. Anything the voters want the government shall put an extreme emphasis on.

This mean there is technically room in the politics for people who love the military.

But focusing on moving tax dollars to things the people actually want is what’s important.

    I think that’s a winning strategy

  21. As much as I’d vote for her, as as much as I think an AOC presidency would be a great thing for this country, I honestly hope she isn’t.

Americans have (*multiple times*) demonstrated they are simply not ready to vote a woman into office, and we need to stop pretending they are. Maybe once we stop this headlong slide into fascism we can do something about the misogyny, but we need to solve this problem *first*.

She’s been the “evil boogeyman” of the right for several years now, and I simply don’t think her being a woman, a POC, and “the boogeyman” will allow her to get enough votes to win, and American NEEDS a win in this regard.

  22. I like her but the Democrats need to be aware that the US is not ready for a female president. You won’t win republican votes with a female candidate.

  23. HauntingStar08 on

Is it true? Meh, not yet. But does this mean they’re afraid of her?

    Oh yes, yes it does.

  24. In today’s misogynistic USA, no female can have a strong presidential bid.

    End of story.

And I hope the democratic party will be wiser than before and accept this as the truth.

Democrats need to stop living in a wishful thinking reality where “we are better than this” is true, but as much as you want it to be true: you aren’t. Proved it 2/2 times.

First you need to deal with the reality that you have, and then you can change it. Not the other way around.

  25. not_anonymouse on

I’d love for AOC to be the president, but now is not the time for sure. We need a white cis male to run and take back control to make sure things remain democratic.

  26. Due-Environment-9774 on

She needs to take over leading the senate for a term or two then make the bid. She needs more of a proven track record of positive leadership before she makes a POTUS bid.

  27. Between her and Newsom I would definitely vote for either happily. But I think if I had to choose I’d choose AOC.
