  1. Turns out, making it more expensive to import stuff to be able to make different stuff has a net-negative effect on manufacturing….

A lot of people have voted for a six-time bankrupt businessman to handle the world’s largest economy.

    This is a self-inflicted recession.

His “best efforts?” He has hurt American manufacturing. Small business. The middle class, and the poor. There is no light at the end of the tunnel for his “austerity for thee, not for me.”

  4. and all the Trump voting manufacturing workers are going to say “he’s not hurting the people he needs to be hurting”, like those in Lexington Nebraska.

It’s all part of the America First agenda, apparently leading to plummeting jobs and rising costs, especially in manufacturing.

“Best efforts”? He hasn’t done anything that would reshore manufacturing. Meanwhile, manufacturing jobs increased under Biden.

  7. “Despite Trump’s best efforts to reshore manufacturing – The sane-washing from the media is just comical. There was NEVER a moment where Trump thought of domestic manufacturing. It was about punishing other nations in order to kiss his ring.

Turns out a wildly unpredictable radical tariff regime that changes every two weeks doesn’t encourage business investment.

  9. “best efforts” from someone incapable of doing a good job means nothing.

Yet again – A participation award.

The manufacturing jobs migrate to wherever the supplies are, particularly steel and aluminum. If the tariffs remain in force long enough, those jobs are permanently gone.

  11. Wow! Who, besides every economist and most people with a basic understanding of trade and labor markets, could have seen this coming?

  12. Yeah I mean maybe this really is what Trump’s *best efforts* look like? He is a feeble 79 year old with Vladimir Putin’s hand up his ass, after all.

What kills me is at 38% approval there’s still 30+ million people to stupid to figure out he’s just a con man

How could anyone plan to build anything with this level of instability? [Lumber Prices](https://tradingeconomics.com/commodity/lumber) are swinging by 20% every two months based on what comes out of his mouth. People wanted someone that spoke like a real person. That’s a mistake. We need measured politicians who show up, say important and productive things, then they disappear. Everyone works based on the last report and nothing changes unless it really needs to. Not because the president wasn’t loved and needs to be seen today as a result.

  15. So the guy who literally tried to trademark the phrase, **”You’re Fired!”** did not in fact end up turning out to be the champion for blue-collar workers…

Shocked Pikachu face doesn’t even begin to describe it…
