>“I don’t know Pete Hegseth well. I sit on the committee that ultimately had to confirm him, so I know a little about his background. He’s totally unqualified,” Kelly said during a Tuesday evening appearance on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
>“Nothing against journalists, they play a very important role in our society, but he is not qualified for this job. And from what I can tell in talking to some of my Republican colleagues, I mean, he just wants to please the president,” he added.
…
“He can go after me under the Uniform Code of Military justice, which is the law in the military, which is kind of wild, because we recited something in the Uniform Code of Military Justice, and he is going to prosecute me under the Uniform Code of Military Justice,” Kelly told viewers while Kimmel interjected to say “for reciting the Uniform Code of Military Justice.”
…
Kelly said he won’t back down from urging service members to comply with the law in the face of attacks.
>“It is so ridiculous. It’s almost like you can’t make this s‑‑‑ up,” he told Kimmel in reference to Hegseth’s behavior.

One of the most troublesome cabinet picks, and that is saying a lot.

“Totally unqualified” seems a bit understated.

Any Senator who confirmed Bondi, Patel, RFK, or Hegseth should not be allowed to forget it.
They did not put Americans first.

Unqualified describes everyone in the trump administration, every single one of them.

Hegseth should be grateful the legislative branch is doing their job. To defend and promote the Constitution, individuals and government branches can uphold the rule of law, ensure checks and balances, educate others about its principles, and protect foundational rights like freedom of speech and voting. This involves both official government actions, such as ensuring the president and Congress respect constitutional limits, and civic engagement, such as citizens holding officials accountable for abuses of power.

I’m glad Kelly found a spot where he can make news fighting this administration.

I live in AZ. I think Kelly’s great, but it’s wild to see the local MAGAs posting on the local news version of this on FB.
