    > Citing unnamed White House officials, MS NOW reported Sunday that Trump was set to introduce the Healthcare Price Cuts Act to combat what the sources called “surprise premium hikes” as soon as Monday.

    > “The plan would also eliminate ‘zero-premium’ subsidies currently offered under the ACA, intending to stop ‘ghost beneficiaries,’ a frequent Republican concern about alleged fraudulent policy recipients, by requiring a small minimum payment as a means to verify eligibility to receive benefits,” according to the outlet.

Why are we still catering to “Republican concerns”? None of their “concerns” are ever in good faith, they just want to bitch, moan, and cry to get airtime.

  2. 1 on 1, i’ve never had a conversation with a republican voter that didn’t want some form of universal healthcare. the divide is on bumper stickers, slogans, when arguments are reduced to tweets.

the vast majority of americans want to demolish the current health care profiteering.

it’s only politicians and corporate media who own stock in those corporations that pretend it’s a divisive issue.

This is the way. We need to constantly talk about it and make a huge deal out of it with EVERY politician. The more people that talk about it and say it’s a priority, the better chance it becomes normalized. Now is the time too because there will be a blue wave after all the shit that has been going on.

  4. We need to abolish for profit insurance. Companies are killing Americans and driving up healthcare costs for profit. Its social murder, and they are paid to do it

  5. Medicare for all is a better solution than what we have now, let alone than whatever crap Trump and the GOP are pretending to come up with.

  6. One has only to remember, tRump never cooks up anything. All proposals must come from the 2025 Reich Agenda, which is most likely Stephen Hitler. Sorry, miller.

  7. Democrats don’t have anything either.

extend the tax credits, sure… then what?

bigger tax credits? then what? more tax credits?

when do we get to the part about stabilizing prices, expanding access, and increasing benefits?

Democrats must pivot towards Medicare for All implementation -or- offer an alternative for discussion.

no more free rides from politicians campaigning on healthcare reform with no policy.

2016: Wait, he’s not coming up with healthcare in two weeks ?
Fast forward 2025: wait, he’s not coming out with healthcare two weeks ?

Now that the government shutdown fiasco is behind them, Republicans will just continue lying about their commitment to a “better” healthcare plan, or instead of universal healthcare, The GOP will push for universally privatizing health care.

Despite what Republicans might argue about trusting the market to balance things out, this will only lead to more profit seeking and denied claims, skyrocketing premiums and healthcare costs, unequal access to care and *less* accessibility for low-income individuals and families, massive conflicts of interest, more lobbying and lining of pockets, hospital shutdowns—and of course—a lot more dead poor people.

And I’m still waiting for the Trump healthcare plan that was promised in two weeks from now… Eight years ago

There’s no “plan,” this is just another performative stunt from Trump that’s trying to distract from his utter mishandling of the economy, and his big ugly bill exploding the national debt and deficit while locking in higher healthcare costs and cuts to Medicaid and food assistance that don’t even begin to remotely offset the costs of his other policies like tax cuts for the rich and his excessive spending on national security.

Okay, so we need to clear something up here. When you say “Medicare for all,” are you talking about the Original Medicare with Part A & B plus the extra purchase of the supplement & drug plans OR the Medicare Advantage which is a very expensive, but almost worthless, scam?

If anyone’s pitching that Advantage shit as the “Medicare for all,” I’m not in the least interested in considering it. I want health insurance I can actually use before I die of whatever I’ve got.

What Trump or the GOP is cooking up either puts money directly in Trump Inc’s pockets, or the pockets of his donors, which includes all insurance carriers. Most of his policies have made govt less efficient and cost the American taxpayer $… so yes, literally anything else, but especially Medicare for all, would be better

We can afford universal health care for all – we just can’t afford to pay the private health insurance companies on top of that.

  13. Let’s see… I pay including Medicare around 1800 a month maybe 2k a month for health coverage that includes co pays and deductibles for self and family. I would be more than happy to pay half of that for universal healthcare if it meant no co pays no deductibles and a wider range of in network coverage including hospitals. Private insurance just needs to be more competitive. This country has deregulated itself to the point that monopolies are commonplace and competition which is the bedrock of our country is non existent. Small companies cannot get started let alone thrive without being strangled by the large corporations.

  14. This is what happens when we gave control of what was originally a free market, with competitive prices and services, to the government. Quit thinking they are out to help. Give insurance back to the private sector.
